Milton Jones, the beloved British comedian known for his surreal one-liners and deadpan delivery, has recently announced a diagnosis of treatable prostate cancer. This news has unfortunately led to the cancellation of several dates on his ongoing “Ha!Milton” live tour, which was scheduled to run through the summer of 2025.
Cancellation of His Tour
In a statement released on Monday, April 28, 2025, the 60-year-old comedian expressed his apologies to his fans for the cancellations. The affected shows were set to take place in various locations, including Leeds, Coventry, Basingstoke, Sterts, Launceston, Durham, Hexham, Ilkley, Wakefield, Lichfield, Tunbridge Wells, Portsmouth, and Lyme Regis. Jones explained that the difficult decision followed his recent diagnosis and the necessity for him to undergo surgery and subsequent recovery.
While the summer dates in Colchester, Bridlington, Stroud, and London will be rescheduled for the autumn, all other shows planned for the autumn tour will remain unaffected. Ticket holders for the cancelled performances will be contracted directly by the venue’s box office regarding refunds or the rescheduling process.
Jones expressed gratitude for the support and understanding of his fans during this time, requesting privacy as he focuses on his health. He reassured everyone that “abnormal service will resume as soon as possible” and that he looks forward to returning to the stage, humorously adding “though probably not on a bike!” (I love a man with a sense of humor.)
An Outpouring of Love and Support
The announcement has been met with an outpouring of support from fans and fellow comedians alike. Many have taken to social media to send their well wishes to Jones, including Sir Chris Hoy, who is also battling prostate cancer. The comedy community has rallied around Jones, wishing him a speedy recovery and a swift return to the stage.
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men in the UK, primarily affecting those over 50, although it can occur at a younger age. Early-stage prostate cancer often doesn’t present noticeable symptoms, making awareness and regular check-ups crucial. Treatment options vary depending on the stage and aggressiveness of the cancer, ranging from active surveillance to surgery, radiation therapy, and hormone therapy. With a diagnosis of “treatable” prostate cancer, Milton Jones’ recovery and eventual return to delighting audiences with his unique brand of comedy. His decision to prioritize his health and undergo treatment is a significant step, and his fans eagerly anticipate his comeback.
