Master P paid a heartfelt homage to his late No Limit Records labelmate and colleague Young Bleed. As AI-generated artwork on Instagram, the tribute was posted following Young Bleed’s sudden death from a brain aneurysm at age 51.

The tribute featured a reimagined version of  Bleed’s 1998 album cover for My Balls & My Word. It features the Baton Rouge, Louisiana born rapper ascending into the clouds, symbolizing his passage of peace. Master P captioned the post, “We lost another Soldier Gone too Soon @therealyoungbleed Rest in Paradise. Our Prayers go out to his Family”.

Young Bleed’s Tribute Expressed Endless Love From Fans and Fellow Artists

The heartfelt homage came just days after Bleed’s final performance on October 25, at the No Limit vs. Cash Money Verzuz celebration during ComplexCon. At the event, he performed his 1997 hit “How Ya Do Dat”.  Ty’Gee Ramon, Bleed’s son, confirmed his father’s passing on November 1. He stated that his father had no prior health complications, and only passed due to complications from the aneurysm. The tragic scenario occurred after Bleed collapsed at an afterparty. The tribute has produced an outpouring of sentimental responses from fellow artists and fans alike, with many praising Master P’s kindhearted and ingenious expression.

Young Bleed’s Humble Beginnings Led to Success

Born Glenn Clifton Jr., Young Bleed began rapping at the age of nine. As a teenager, and determined to make a name for himself, he sold his own tapes on the streets. Gaining prominence through with his track “How You Do That,”  Bleed eventually landed a record deal with No Limit Records. His debut album “My Balls & My Word” (1998) reached number one on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop album charts. Achieving gold certification, the hit album established him as a prominent figure in Southern hip-hop.

A few years later, he released other albums including, “My Own” (2000), Preserved (2011), and “Dare’ Iza’ God” (2022). The latter was released under his own label, Trap Door Entertainment. Bleed continued to mentor  younger artists, and remained active in the music industry until his untimely passing.
