The Masked Singer Season 13 reaches a pivotal moment during its new Carnival Night. Audience members and television viewers got to witness the introduction of the Group C contestants. Yorkie, Stud Muffin, Nessy, Cherry Blossom, and Mad Scientist Monster joined the roster. Each of these mystery celebrities gave an entertaining performance while showcasing their musical talents. Sadly, one had to remove their mask and miss out on the Golden Mask trophy. But which Group C contestant revealed their famous face, shocking judges and fans?
Masked Singer Brings in Group C
The new Masked Singer episode opens with a flurry of color and Carnival music. Dancers dressed in festival attire perform as the host, Nick Cannon, introduces the esteemed judges. And, like the performers, they’re dressed for a night of fun and musical entertainment. The first Group C contestant to hit the stage was the glamorous canine Yorkie. This sassy pup gave a rousing rendition of Chappell Roan’s “Hot to Go.” Her performance got the audience bouncing and judge Rita Ora moving and singing along.
Following Yorkie came Stud Muffin, the musclebound baked good with the adorable smile. Every person watching him sing House of Pain’s “Jump Around” was energized. As for his clue package, it gave off hints connected to a sports icon. Next up on stage was Nessy, the kilt-wearing cryptid who towers over his competition. His vocals during The Police’s “Roxanne” suggest an experienced or iconic singer lies underneath. The judges guessed the likes of Gene Simmons, Dan Reynolds, and Daryl Hall.
Coming in as the fourth contestant for Carnival Night was Cherry Blossom. This pretty pink plant sang “Let’s Get Loud” by Jennifer Lopez, motivating people to dance. She also dedicated her performance to a past Masked Singer participant and close friend. The final Group C performer for Carnival Night was Mad Scientist Monster. Looking like a Sesame Street character, he gave an interesting rendition of Matchbox’s Twenty’s “Unwell.” His Southern twang makes you think country music star, but he might be an athlete.
The First C Contestant Going Home
Every Group C contestant debuting in this Masked Singer episode brought their A-game. Their performances wowed the judges, motivated the audience to move, and electrified viewers at home. But like every prior installment, someone had to remove the mask and leave. The attending crowd and judges panel voted for their favorite singers. And despite giving an incredible performance, Cherry Blossom was sent packing, to the many’s surprise. The judges gave their final guesses before the flower revealed herself as Candace Cameron Bure.
Cameron Bure is a child star from the 90s, playing DJ Tanner from Full House. Nowadays, she’s an actress in various Christmas movies for Hallmark and Great American Family. That’s what the decorated Christmas tree in her clue package alluded to. And the personal friend she was referring to was the late great Bob Saget. Saget played Cameron Bure’s father in Full House and hosted America’s Funniest Home Videos. She said she immediately recognized his voice during his Season Four performance as Squiggly Monster.
Cameron Bure admitted to not being a singer and never singing before a live audience. She affirms this statement in an interview with tvinsider following her Masked Singer appearance. But during her reveal, she admitted to being happy and proud she participated. Her not being a professional singer was a surprise because her voice was incredible. Hopefully, she’ll consider pursuing a part-time music career to spread her talent.
Final Thought
Carnival Night on The Masked Singer made Group C’s debut all the more memorable. The constant mispronunciation of ‘carnival’ was the only nitpick for me. Candace Cameron Bure’s reveal as Cherry Blossom was the obvious highlight of the event. Her admission of not being a singer took me by great surprise. Her performance was so good that I’ve been humming “Let’s Get Loud” all day. I wish she weren’t unmasked so soon we could enjoy more of her singing.
