Marvel Studios Expands 2028 Slate with 4 New Movies: Full Breakdown of Upcoming MCU Films

Marvel Studios 2028 Movie Timeline

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is expanding its future slate with four new Marvel Studios movies officially announced for 2028. With movies like Fantastic Four: First Steps and Avengers: Doomsday coming out, people are wondering what the future holds after the Multiverse Saga ends. Who will survive Doctor Doom’s reign as we move forward into the future of the MCU? From what we know, the next Saga will focus on Mutants, with some Avengers popping up, introducing us to future characters that could play key parts in the universe.

Four Dates to Look Forward

With four slots available for Marvel films, the current projects under discussion include “Black Panther Part Three,” “Blade/Midnight Sons,” “X-Men,” and possibly “Fantastic Four Part Two”. Each movie would have a possible release date of February 18, May 5, November 10, and December 15. Additionally, there are many films still in development for the next phase of the MCU. These movies would somehow shape what the future of the Marvel universe is going to look like after years of Avengers-centric movies.

Quality MCU Over Quantity

This seems like a hopeful step for Marvel Studios, seeing as they want quality over quantity. For a while, they were just turning out movie/TV series after movie/TV series, and what suffered was a lot of the visual effects. If we look at something like “Ant-Man and The Wasp in Quantumania”, you’ll see that a lot of the visuals in that movie were rushed, and the story itself suffered from the lack of quality put into the film. This turned people off, along with the overall story of the multiverse being all over the place instead of a narrative.

Taking the Right Steps

The studio is taking the right steps towards the future, as recently it was announced that “Thunderbolts*” director Jake Schreier will be taking the helm of the MCU’s first X-Men movie. After what we saw from the director’s recent Marvel movie, we know he can handle an ensemble. Of course, none of this will happen until after the upcoming “Fantastic Four: First Steps”, “Spider-Man: Brand New Day”, “Avengers: Doomday”, and “Avengers: Secret Wars”. We also have series coming up to look forward to like “Ironheart”, “Wonderman”, and season two of “Daredevil: Born Again” and “X-Men ‘97”, along with a special featuring Jon Bernthal’s Punisher.
