Marshals Season 2 Premiere: Andrea’s Exit on Hold
Andrea’s exit from the Marshals team is on hold. In an exclusive sneak peek at the Marshals season 2 premiere airing Sunday on CBS at 8:30/7:30c, Ash Santos’ character confronts her decision to leave for a job in Washington, D.C., when Kayce’s family crisis forces her to reconsider.
What the sneak peek reveals
The preview picks up moments after season one’s cliffhanger finale, with Andrea visiting Kayce at East Camp to find him acting off. “I went out to East Camp to see Kayce, and he was acting weird,” she tells Cal in the clip. “I just can’t shake the feeling that something’s off.”
She’s right to worry. Kayce’s son Tate has been kidnapped by Tom Weaver as leverage to control East Camp, and the squad learns the Weavers orchestrated the attack on Thomas Rainwater in the season one finale. The team’s new mission becomes clear: find Tom Weaver.
Andrea’s decision at the Marshals season 2 premiere
Showrunner Spencer Hudnut tells TVLine that Andrea begins the episode still committed to her Washington job. But as the premiere unfolds and the severity of Kayce and Tate’s situations becomes clear, she faces a choice. “As the episode unravels, and she realizes that not only is Kayce in trouble but also Tate’s in trouble, that’s going to compel her to stick around a little longer than she wanted,” Hudnut says.
The conflict forces Andrea to acknowledge how deeply she’s bonded with the team and the lengths they go for each other. Hudnut notes she’ll “have to confront what she has here, and if she’s willing to walk away from that” after they risked everything for her during her own kidnapping by the Cleggs.
