Hello readers, I have some sad news again. Mark Damon, a famous producer and actor known for his 1960 performance in House of Usher, has died at 91 as of May 12th. The cause of death is believed to have been natural according to his daughter, Alexis. So let’s see who he was. Though Western fans are currently crying right now, at least I imagine any decent human cries when the other one is dead and gone. But let’s get into it, shall we?
Accomplishments of Mark Damon

Not much was known about his life according to some sources, but he was born in Chicago to two parents and had roomed with Jack Nicholson in an acting academy in the 1930s.
The human known as Mark Damon (born Alan Harris) was an actor turned businessman (and vice-versa until around the 2000s). He was a producer, and overall a jack-of-all-trades in this world today. Some of his noted performances and notable films he has worked on included The Neverending Story (Rest in Peace to the most upsetting scene in childhood history, though The Lion King begs to differ). He also directed the film Monster (The Aileen Wournos biography) along with several more films and is generally well-loved within the film and entertainment industry as a whole.
His Acting Career
He began his career as an actor in 1956, appearing beside Alfred Hitchcock and in The Party Crashers and This Rebel Breed, with plenty more films to name according to The Hollywood Reporter. Along with plenty of other lovely obscure films that helped pioneer the genres of Spaghetti Westerns, and Italian cinema, within the age of his ’20s, in which he was surprised that he was cast due to his American heritage.
Some of his later works include The Lost Boys, The Jungle Book, and a slew of other movies that I could in fact name just because I CAN! This is just me releasing that the man who made my favorite vampire horror movie is gone.
Mark Damon was also in the industry for more than 50 years with several movies of many genres under his name and cowboy boots. His later gig included financing several independent films and helping film festivals thrive as a financial advisor for them, according to Deadline. But more details right? Wrong, we really could wonder and speculate that he might be making movies for the big guy upstairs right? Perhaps a new article is in order, but anyway.
All in All
You will be missed, Mark Damon. Now, according to People, he is currently survived by “Maggie Markov Damon, whom he met when she starred in 1974’s The Arena, which he produced, per The Hollywood Reporter. He is also survived by his son Jonathan, his daughter Alexis Damon Ribaut, and his son-in-law Mathieu Ribaut.”.
