Made Clean Cast Revealed: Exciting 1st Cinema Country Film
The Made Clean cast is led by Penelope Ann Miller and Otmara Marrero, who star in the first film from Cinema Country, a new Nashville-based production company, Deadline reported.
Made Clean cast and story
Marrero plays Tonya, a single mother who loses her job after failing a drug test. Her teenage daughter, Kimberly, runs away. Miller plays Tonya’s estranged mother, Wanda, whom Tonya turns to for help. Ava Torres plays Kimberly, and Jacob Alexander plays Ronny, Tonya’s ex-husband. Glenn Morshower and Cherrie McRae also appear.
D. Erik Parks directed the faith-inspired drama and co-wrote the script with producer Seth Christian. The film is in post-production, and no release date has been announced.
How Cinema Country funded the film
Christian, whose earlier producing credits include the 2020 crime drama Echo Boomers, founded Cinema Country under a label called Films For Impact. He said a stroke two years ago changed how he thinks about filmmaking.
The film’s budget was between $1 million and $2 million, according to the report. Rather than paying everyone up front, Christian brought in partners who receive a share of future earnings. They include about 50 crew members, equipment-rental companies, camper owners and restaurants.
What Cinema Country does next
Cinema Country has said its slate will focus on socially minded stories. Miller also appeared in the Monster franchise. For more faith-driven film news beyond the Made Clean cast, see our coverage of God With Us and David.
