Louis Tomlinson has announced his third solo album, How Did I Get Here? Set for release on January 23, 2026, the album has already started building anticipation with its lead single, “Lemonade”. With it’s psychedelic, funk vibe, the energetic and ambitious production marks the perfect beginning of his new artistic chapter.

Tomlinson has described How Did I Get Here? as “the record he has always deserved to make”, and “the album that he always wanted to make”. The album was co-written with Theo Hutchcraft and produced by Nico Rebscher. It will be available in multiple formats including a limited edition, double vinyl in a gatefold sleeve, with two bonus tracks.

Louis Tomlinson’s Early Success Was Inevitable

In 2010, Tomlinson rose to fame as a solo contestant on The X Factor. Although eliminated, he was grouped with Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, and Harry Styles to form One Direction. The group eventually became one of the best-selling boy bands of all time. Following One Direction’s hiatus in 2016, Tomlinson launched a solo career with the release of “Just Hold On”, featuring Steve Aoki, in December 2016. The song peaked at number two on the UK Singles Chart, and was certified platinum in 2016.

Tomlinson also released subsequent singles including “Back to You” with Bebe Rexha, “Miss You”, and “Two of Us”, a tribute to his late mother. His debut solo studio album, Walls was released in January 2020. It debuted at No. 4 in the UK, and No. 9 on the US Billboard 200. His second album, Faith in the Future was released in November 2022, and reached No. 1 in the UK.
