Lil Wayne gave fans massive news on his upcoming album, The Carter 6, today. The Carter 6 is the latest installment in Lil Wayne’s The Carter series of albums, which started with his first solo project back in 2000. It has been 7 years since the release of Tha Carter V in 2018. The album was highly critically acclaimed and featured hits like Uproar as well as iconic tracks like Mona Lisa featuring Kendrick Lamar.
Rapper Reveals Plans for Debut Concert at MSG
Not much has been heard from the Louisiana rap legend Lil Wayne since he was snubbed from performing at the Super Bowl in his hometown of New Orleans this February. Wayne teased the release date of his upcoming album the day before Kendrick Lamar took the stage in Wayne’s hometown at Super Bowl 59. Today, the rapper also dropped the news of an exclusive concert at Madison Square Garden on June 6th, the day the album is set to debut. The post on social media also revealed the album art for the upcoming release Tha Carter VI, which fans are highly anticipating.
The album art pays respect to prior iconic covers in the franchise, Tha Carter III and Tha Carter IV. On the cover, Lil Wayne is featured as a child with his face covered in tattoos. However, this one features the most facial ink of them and shows Wayne cracking an adorable smile as well. Fans of the rapper have been anticipating this project for the last couple of years, since the release of the collaborative mixtape album with rapper 2 Chainz titled ‘Tha Fix Before Tha Six’ back in 2023.
