URGENT Toy Recall: 64,000 Plush Alpacas Could Cause Choking Risk
Heads up, parents. A big toy recall just dropped. About 64,000 plush alpaca toys are being pulled back after safety officials found the eyes can pop off. That tiny piece might not look like much, but for little kids itโs a choking risk. No injuries yet, but the warning is outโcheck your shelves. There’s a few around most houses with kiddos.
Details of the Toy Recall
These plush alpacas came from Inkari. Youโve probably seen them online or in boutique shops. Theyโve been around since late 2020, sold through midโ2025. Five collections are part of the recall: Naturals, Baristas, Rainbow, Monsterfluffs, and Limited Edition.
Sizes ran from mini to large. Colors? Pretty much the whole rainbowโivory, brown, black, pink, purple, blue. Price tags ranged from $25 to $100. Cute, soft, collectible. But the eyes donโt hold up. Thatโs the problem.
Why This Recall Matters
Recalls donโt happen for nothing. Inspectors found the eyes can detach, and that breaks the rules. Toys for toddlers arenโt supposed to have small parts that come loose. Itโs the kind of detail most parents wouldnโt think twice aboutโuntil it matters.
This plush alpaca recall is a reminder: even the cuddliest toy can carry a hidden risk.
What Parents Should Do
If youโve got one of these alpacas at home, hereโs the drill:
- Stop using it now
- Cut the fur or make sure it canโt be played with again
- Send proof to Inkari and ask for a refund
“Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled plush alpaca toys, cut the fur or otherwise make the toy unusable, and then provide proof of destruction to Inkari in order to receive a refund.” per the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
No injuries have been reported, but the recall is about prevention. Better safe than sorry.
Bigger Picture
This isnโt just about alpacas. Itโs about trust. Parents buy toys expecting them to be safe. Companies are supposed to meet the standards. When that doesnโt happen, recalls step in.
Itโs easy to get swept up in the charm of a soft toy. But this recall shows why it pays to stay in the know. A quick check of recall notices can save a lot of worry later.
Safety Comes First
The plush alpaca recall is a wakeโup call. Cute doesnโt always mean safe, actually it rarely means safe. These toys may have been loved, but safety comes first. Stay in the know, act fast, and keep playtime safe.
