It is with heavy hearts that we share the devastating news of the passing of a true artistic talent. Leo Blanco, the beloved choreographer known for his work on Brazil’s edition of “Dancing with the Stars,” has been found dead at his home. He was just 47 years old.

Leo was a figure full of life and movement, someone who dedicated his days to the art of expression. He was discovered at his residence in Curitiba, Brazil, on January 9. At this time, the specific cause of his death remains unknown.

A Life Built on Love for Dance

Leo Blanco’s dancing entertained audiences. His passion for dance began early in life and grew while he was in college, where he directed two dance teams. This dedication to dance paved the way for his stardom on “Dança dos Famosos,” the Brazilian version of “Dancing with the Stars.”

He became known to many for partnering with celebrities and creating magic on the dance floor. In 2017, he partnered with actress Mariana Xavier for Season 14. He also danced with vocalist Luisa Sonza, securing a respectable ninth place. His talent shone brightly in 2020 when he partnered with Lucy Ramos, helping guide her to a spectacular championship win.

Tributes Pour in for Leo Blanco

The news has prompted an outpouring of love and grief from those who knew him best. Xavier shared a touching tribute on Instagram that highlighted Blanco’s warmth. She described him as [translated from Spanish] “one of the kindest, most generous people I’ve met along my journey.”

For Mariana, Leo Blanco was a teacher and a partner in realizing a dream. Her words remind us that behind the reality television glitz, real connections do exist. “Someone who stayed in my heart and in my life, even when we weren’t in touch all that often,” she wrote.

Fans have also flooded social media to share their condolences, painting a picture of a man who was accessible and kind. One follower wrote, “I can’t believe it, Leo, we talked those days…you were always a dear one, rest in peace.”

Remembering Blanco’s Spirit

Leo Blanco was also a dedicated fitness instructor and personal trainer when not dancing. His Instagram feed showed his commitment to a healthy body. He shared photos of his sculpted abs, his gym sessions, and his vacations, including a recent trip to Rio De Janeiro.

He was a man who embraced life and loved the beach and traveling. However, some comments from fans hint at private struggles with depression. Regardless of the circumstances, the loss of someone so young and talented at 47 is a tragedy. Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and the many students he inspired.
