Krysten Ritter has been confirmed as joining the cast of “Daredevil: Born Again” second season. Its first season of nine episodes wrapped up in April. The confirmation of Krysten Ritter joining the cast came today at Disney’s Upfront presentation.
Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones
Krysten Ritter first appeared as Jessica Jones in the Netflix series of the same name. The three-season series follows superhero Jessica Jones after she has opened her private investigator office called Alias. She’s a darker character than many of the Marvel superheroes, so she fits right in with the atmosphere of Daredevil: Born Again. She has superhuman strength, durability, enhanced healing, and the ability to jump very high.
She acquired her powers as a result of experimental procedures after she was in a car accident that killed her parents. She’s a troubled person who dealt with depression and PTSD in the “Jessica Jones” series. She also appeared in the Netflix series “Defenders” as Jessica Jones. Both the “Jessica Jones” and “Defenders” series can be found on Disney+ now.
Ritter was quoted as saying:
It is so great to be back. Returning to Jessica after three seasons, and the Defenders and now joining the MCU. I am so excited to bring back this iconic character. Without giving too much away… there’s much in store for Jessica Jones – this is going to be an incredible season
We also had news from Charlie Cox, who stars as Daredevil, “We’re currently shooting Season 2, and it is heading in a bold new direction. I’m excited to finally suit up in the iconic black Daredevil suit – complete with the interlocking Ds on the chest. It’s something fans have been asking me about for over a decade, and that’s just the beginning of what we’ve got in store this season.”
Wrapping it Up
This is great news! While rumors of Krysten Ritter joining the cast of Daredevil: Born Again have been swirling for some time, it’s nice to have confirmation. The second season is expected sometime in 2026.
