5 Amazing LGBT+ Books You Can Read on Kindle Unlimited

Kindle Unlimited is Amazon’s book subscription service that works pretty similarly to Netflix, Hulu, and other visual media streaming services, with one difference. Kindle Unlimited is exclusively for written media. The catalog boasts thousands of books, graphic novels, comics, and magazines. It can be a bit overwhelming trying to find what you’d like to read at first. So, here are 5 amazing LGBT+ books you can read on Kindle Unlimited.

On The Same Page by Haley Cass

On The Same Page by Haley Cass is a sweet, sapphic rom-com about an influencer (Gianna) and her best friend (Riley) from college who couldn’t be more opposite but can’t imagine life without each other. They know each other inside out and backward. Riley knows that nothing could ever come between them. Except… some mix-ups around the holidays send them into a domino effect. It has them questioning exactly what each of them means to the other. This is classic rom-com territory where you’ll laugh, you might cry, but overall, you’ll just have a good time.

Boyfriend Material by Alexis Hall

Boyfriend Material by Alexis Hall is a gay rom com set in England that follows 2 men and their adventures in fake dating each other. In order to cover up a scandal and clean up his public image, Luc decides to fake date Oliver. But when it’s time to part ways they find that there’s a startling absence where each of them was during their plot. Boyfriend Material explores the idea that even things we don’t think are permanent can become just that. Check it out on Kindle Unlimited!

Read Between the Lines by Rachel Lacey

https://gty.im/2149836481

Read Between the Lines by Rachel Lacey is another sapphic rom com. It follows bookstore owner, Rosie, and secret romance author Jane (who writes under a pen name), in Manhattan as they get to know each other through a flirty online exchange. But when Jane’s work life strikes Rosie’s wellbeing by shutting down her bookstore and Jane’s identity is exposed to her readers, can Rosie and Jane work through the major conflict that is in the way of their obvious attraction to one another?

These Violent Delights by Micah Nemerever

These Violent Delights by Micah Nemerever is quite the different vibe from these other recommendations. It is a literary fiction novel that explores the dark and complex themes of toxic friendships, obsession, and power imbalances. It follows Paul and Julian through their college experience in the 1970s as they spital into a very toxic relationship. This book has gay representation as well as mental illness representation and will make you think about certain relationships in your own life as you read about theirs.

The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller

The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller is one of those books on Kindle Unlimited that I wish I could read for the first time again and again. It is a beautiful retelling of Patroclus and Achilles from the Iliad, set in a historical fantasy context. It homes in on the relationship between Patroclus and Achilles and how love can sometimes be the ultimate undoing of a person. Be ready to cry with this novel but know that it is such a rewarding read. It lived up to all the hype that I’ve seen surrounding this book.

Conclusion

Kindle Unlimited is a wonderful resource to have if you’re an avid reader. With it’s thousands of books, you might be overwhelmed by the selection at first, but these 5 recommendations should get you started. Once you’ve checked out a few books on KU, the algorithm will start suggesting similar titles for you and you’ll be on your way to reading as much as your heart desires. Enjoy these books and Happy Pride Month!
