Kendrick Lamar keeps proving he’s one of the biggest rappers from Compton, California, claiming his status as a unique force in hip-hop. He smashes Drake’s record with his latest track, “Not Like Us.” The track is widely known for its powerful lyrics and fierce delivery, and it made waves in the music industry by breaking a record previously held by the Toronto-based rapper Drake.
ChartData, in their reports, said that “Not Like Us” broke a record when it opened up as the most streamed single-day track by a solo Hip-Hop song. It reached this milestone on Wednesday, May 8. This new record shows Kendrick Lamar’s influence in the hip-hop world and his ability to connect with listeners on a wider scale.
Kendrick Lamar Breaks Spotify Record with Over 11.85 Million Streams
The hit track packed over 11.85 million streams, which is an incredible achievement for Kendrick Lamar, exceeding the past record set by Drake’s (Champagne Dreams.) The record-breaking achievement serves as a reminder of his standard style and the strong message his music has with fans worldwide.
Just two days ago, ChartData stated that the Compton rapper’s latest diss tracks aimed at his rival broke the all-time record for the “biggest single day streams of a Hip Hop song in US Spotify history.”
As of now, “Not Like Us” has overtaken Drake and Lil Baby’s biggest hit (Girls Like Girls), which previously set the record with 6.593 million streams in a single day. The latest achievement marks an important step in the ongoing competition between these two big artists, with “Not Like Us” now claiming its place in the Hip-Hop world.
This indicates that the track gathered more than 5 million streams over two days, with an average of about 2.5 million streams a day.
- “Not Like Us” strengthens the Los Angeles rapper’s previous accusations about the Toronto rapper-turned-actor’s suspected interest in minors.
- “Says Drake, I hear you like ’em young / You better not ever go to cell block one / To any bitch that talk to him and they in love / Just make sure you hide your little sister from him,” he says.
Moreover, he didn’t end it there. Also featured an image of Drake’s Toronto home on the joint’s cover art—complete with tags suggesting that the people living there are registered sex offenders (“Certified lover boy, certified pedophiles”). Kendrick also suggested that the 6 God (Drake) had slept with Lil Wayne’s girlfriends while the Young Money rapper was detained on a gun charge in New York a few years ago.
- “Fucked on Wayne girl while he was in jail, that’s conniving’ / Then get his face tatted like a bitch apologizing,” he raps.

Kendrick and Drake Beef Escalates
Before releasing the “Not Like Us” track, Kendrick heated up his battle with Drake by dropping “6:16 in LA.” This track followed “Euphoria,” released earlier in the week. It also suggests that some of Drake’s own associates are working against him, even leaking information to his enemies.
Drake replied with a seven-minute track and video displaying a 1996 Chrysler Town & Country, the same model from the deluxe edition of “Good Kid, m.A.A.d City,” being trashed in a junkyard. The track accused Kendrick of domestic violence and other controversial claims.
The Compton-based rapper responded with “Meet the Grahams,” a six-and-a-half-minute track that called out the entire Drake family and referred to Drake by his real name, Aubrey Graham.
