Kendrick Lamar Leads With 10 Nominations at the 51st Annual American Music Awards

The year just keeps getting better for Kendrick Lamar.  Still riding high from his universally successful album, GNX (2024), Kendrick’s star continues to rise as he leads this year’s American Music Awards with a whopping ten nominations.  Closely followed by Post Malone with eight nominations,  Shaboozey, Chappell Roan, and Billie Eilish were all next in line with seven.

Kendrick Lamar’s Winning Streak Continues!

Proven to be one of the most phenomenal rappers of the 21st century, the Compton, California native has received nods in some of the ceremony’s biggest categories, including Album of the Year for GNXSong of the Year for “Not Like Us,” and  Artist of the Year.  Other nominations include Favorite Hip Hop Album and Collaboration of the Year for “Luther” with SZA. The latter continues to top the Billboard 100 chart and has done so for 13 weeks.

Rising to prominence with his second album, Good Kid, M.A.A.D City (2012), Kendrick Lamar has since become one of the greatest and most influential rappers of all time.  After his widely successful Halftime Show performance at Super Bowl LIX, the 22-time Grammy winner has been continuously making major waves through the industry, and shows no signs of slowing down.  Hosted by Jennifer Lopez, the 51st Annual American Music Awards will air live on Memorial Day on CBS at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m.  Additionally, the show will stream on Paramount+.
