The jury of the Karen Read trial is taking their good, sweet time making their deliberations. While their pursuit of justice is admirable, we already want their decision! Does their extended deliberation mean that they’re going to find her guilty or innocent? What are the experts saying? We’ll talk about that here. We will also discuss the jury questions and courtroom drama during these last three days. Lastly, I’ll give you a bonus of content surrounding the trial that you absolutely cannot miss.
Is The Jury Going To Say “Guilty?”
The only agreement legal experts can make about the length of the jury’s deliberation is that it means nothing. There are plenty of cases that resulted in a guilty and a non-guilty verdict in a similar time frame that we’re dealing with now. Juries are notoriously unpredictable. Whatever decision they made, they did so with all of the evidence.
Karen Read Trial Drama And Questions
How do we know the jury is thoroughly going through every piece of evidence? Their question to the judge on Wednesday indicated that. They requested the State Police Special Emergency Response Team’s (SERT) report of the crime scene on the day of John O’Keefe’s death. The judge denied their request because it wasn’t included in the evidence during the trial and basically told them we “have food at home,” i.e., the other evidence is in your deliberation room.
Still, the jury request shows they remember testimony from the beginning of the month. That’s no small feat considering how much of a clown show this trial has been. It also shows they want more information on the taillight and a report from someone easier to trust than Trooper Proctor. It may be tedious, but their desire to get to the bottom of everything is relieving.
Of course, the dysfunction must continue, so Judge Cannone had to ruin a rare moment of peace in the Karen Read trial. Defense attorney Alan Jackson started with a tone, getting spicy with the judge, saying, “I don’t really care how it always is in Massachusetts, I care if it’s appropriate” over what was a notably confusingly written verdict slip. After that, Judge Cannone snapped at Karen Read because she thought the defendant thought that something was funny. Next, she gets up because she’s “done” and leaves the courtroom in disgust. The slip is fixed, Read is read the riot act, and the judge simmers down. Another day in the Karen Read trial.
A Parody You Cannot Miss
It’s not every day that you find hilarious content that makes you laugh through the mental anguish that is the Karen Read trial. LawTube is the gift that just keeps giving, and Uncivil Law‘s dry sarcasm and wit bring scathing commentary that is hilarious. The channel ‘Auntie Deb‘ is an absolute must for anyone who has followed this trial. The multiple parodies will have you rolling on the ground laughing. It’s one of the best parodies I’ve seen in a while. We aren’t sponsored or associated with either channel, but when something is good, you have to share it.
