Many people know of the Jurassic World trilogy following the saga of Jurassic Park. While movies regaled the story to us, two animated series by Dreamworks convey another side. And the latest is the dark and intense Jurassic World: Chaos Theory. It follows a group of young adults adjusting to dinosaurs in their world. Recently, news and photos relating to its third season have stepped out into the open. What do these sneak peeks reveal about the continuing adventures of the Nublar Six?
The Jurassic World Series Saga
The events of Chaos Theory began with its predecessor, Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous. It showcased six teenagers attending the titular location at the world-renowned dinosaur park and resort. Following the rampage of the Indominus Rex, the group fails to escape from Isla Nublar. They must survive until help arrives while uncovering secrets surrounding the fallen park. The kids eventually get off the dinosaur-inhabited island but find themselves on another. After finally returning to civilization, the survivors are dubbed the Nublar Six.
Chaos Theory occurs years after Camp Cretaceous and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. Dinosaurs are loose across North America, and human society is learning to deal with them. Unfortunately, the change has led to a tragedy involving the Nublar Six. Brooklynn, the influencer turned investigator, was killed in a dinosaur attack, devastating the friend group. Things become complicated when her death comes out as a targeted attack, not an accident. The reason behind this was she was investigating an illegal dinosaur smuggling ring.
Season Two features Darius and the remaining Nublar Six continuing Brooklynn’s smuggling ring investigation. Their search leads them to Africa, where dinosaurs live in the wild. The group also discovers these criminals are making the prehistoric reptiles for profit. At the same time, Brooklynn survived the attack but is now missing an arm. She resumes her investigation and meets the head trafficker and her attempted murderer, Soyona Santos. She even joins Santos to infiltrate the operation more, thus abandoning her friends.
Chaos Theory Season Three Coming Soon
Like Camp Cretaceous, Chaos Theory became a massive hit among fans and critics. They praise the series for its natural progression and more mature tone. It tackled issues like grief and loss following death, trauma, personal relationships, and betrayal. Season Two even pushed the boundary by introducing authentic disability representation involving limb differences. Brooklynn loses an arm, and the showrunners wanted realism depicted in her development and movements. They achieved this direction by employing a writer and voice actor possessing personal experience.
Dreamworks recently announced the third season of Chaos Theory will premiere early next month. The studio also released three official pics, one revealing Brooklynn with a new prosthetic. Darius, in another, is hiding from a Ceratosaurus that’s probably hunting him for Santos. The last photo shows the Nublar Six in a snow-covered town or village. They may be vague but possibly depict crucial events for the upcoming arc. Nevertheless, they’ll instill excitement and theory-making within the show’s loyal fans.
Final Thoughts
As a fan, I’m excited for Jurassic World: Chaos Theory Season Three. I’ve been following and enjoying this show since watching the previous Camp Cretaceous series. I’ve enjoyed how the show isn’t afraid to push forward with its mature tone. And it feels like the showrunners created it for older Camp Cretaceous fans like me. I’m ready to watch and maybe review what new adventures and dinosaurs we encounter next. Season Three debuts on Netflix on April 3rd, so rewatch the last two before then.
