Josh Brolin in Upcoming Horror Terror, Weapons 2025

Josh Brolin

Weapons is an upcoming psychological horror film with supernatural elements that match the vibes of Zach Cregger’s previous terror, Barbarian (2022).  The story centers around the mass disappearance of a class of elementary school kids who all ran off into the night. This disturbing mystery is coming to theaters in August 2025.

Josh Brolin Joining Weapons Cast

Actor Josh Brolin, aka Thanos from Avengers: Endgame & Infinity War and Royal Abbott on the TV series Outer Range, plays one of the parents of the missing children. During an interview with Collider, Brolin had seen Cregger’s Barbarian and praised the film, but wasn’t completely onboard for the young director’s upcoming work. It wasn’t until he talked to his daughter about Barbarian and read the script for Weapons that he signed on the dotted line. Joining him through this upcoming terror are Julia Garner, Benedict Wong, June Diane Raphael, Alden Ehrenreich, and Toby Huss, just to name a few.

Mr. Brolin as Mr. Graff

In the Weapons (2025) trailers, Josh Brolin’s character is introduced as Mr. Graff, a gruff-looking father of one of the missing children. Determined to find out what happened to his son, he investigates all the footage and evidence on the night of the disappearances. Brolin carries his character with heartfelt worry and stubborn determination, willing to go the distance to uncover the truth.

Final Thoughts

Weapons (2025) has given us a gripping, paranoia-induced sample of what is to come in Fall 2025. The eeriness and suspense Cregger delivered in Barbarian (2022) is oozing out of just the few minutes we get to see now. Josh Brolin gives a talented demonstration of his character and has us wanting to see what he does next. How will his character unfold the strange event? Where will the direction take him? How far is he willing to go to get his son back? One thing we can be certain of is this: We will be on the nail-gripping edge of our seats from start to finish.
