It’s no secret that the political atmosphere in the United States has been tense. There’s a constant storm cloud over the entire country, and a sense of dread for many Americans, while others continue to express trust in the current administration. Actor Joe Pontaliano, who is known for his role on “The Sopranos”, is feeling the fear that so many others are. And he’s shared what he’s been planning.
What Joe Pontaliano Said
The actor was interviewed at the premiere of “Tucci in Italy” on April 28, and he shared his thoughts and feelings on the current situation. He and his wife, Nancy Sheppard, have been spending time in Portugal and working on getting visas. After large parts of Europe experienced an 18-hour power outage, he saw it as a sign of things to come. He said, “I dunno, maybe it’s a dress rehearsal for what’s going to happen here. You gotta think about that. You’ve got to think about our future, why is all of this happening? I’m very confused … and I wish I could understand why this is happening.”
The 73-year-old actor was quoted as saying, “I’m so uncomfortable with the nature of what’s happening in our country, and I just want to run for the hills.” He also shared that it’s difficult to concentrate with everything that has been going on. He also shared, “I keep a lot of cash at home, not a lot but enough to get me going for a couple of weeks.” Though he did say it’s buried and there’s no map to the location.
Joe Pontaliano is also known for “Memento,” “The Matrix,” and “The Fugitive.” Upcoming credits include the role of Eugene in Season Two of “The Last of Us.”
Other Celebs Have Already Left
Rosie O’Donnell and her son, who is 12 years old, have already relocated to Ireland. She was quoted as saying, “The President of the United States has it out for me and has for 20 years. He sort of uses me as a punchline whenever he feels the need.”
Comedian Ellen DeGeneres and her wife, Portia de Rossi, sold their home and moved to the U.K. after Trump won the election for his second term in the White House.
