The Wednesday star revealed to the “The New York Times – The Interview” podcast that she deleted her X account, formerly Twitter, after she received AI pornographic photos of herself. “Did I like being 14 and making a Twitter account because I was supposed to and seeing dirty edited content of me as a child?” she said. “No. It’s terrifying. It’s corrupt. It’s wrong. It’s disgusting.” She was speaking out about the rise of AI-generated explicit images.
It turns out it wasn’t the first time she had received those images. After being asked how she feels about AI, she said she deleted her account because of “these absurd images and photos” of herself after Wednesday was released in 2022. She elaborated, “It’s just so repulsive, and I already was in a confused state that I just deleted it because it was unnecessary, and I didn’t need that. Before then, Jenna Ortega also received inappropriate images as a child, stating that she was sent photos of male genitals when she was 12.
Those photos set the stage for what was to come for her uncomfortable experiences with explicit images. Like Ortega, Taylor Swift was the victim of AI-generated explicit pictures of herself on X recently, which shows the prevalence. Ortega rose to fame after her roles in Scream and The Fallout. In 2022, she achieved greater fame and notoriety when Wednesday premiered, which became a massive Netflix hit.

Jenna Ortega further elaborated that the explicit photos made her uncomfortable and were often unavoidable on the platform. She said, “I couldn’t say anything without seeing something like that. So one day, I just woke up and thought, Oh, I don’t need this anymore. So I dropped it.” Ortega was using the platform for her career, but continually getting inappropriate images was the final straw for her.
Although she still has an Instagram account, she no longer has her X, formerly Twitter, account. Recently, Jenna Ortega was featured in Sabrina Carpenter’s music video for her new song, Taste, as a woman fighting the singer over their boyfriend, played by Holloween Ends actor Rohan Campbell.
In the video, the two women go to war in a bloody murder-revenge fantasy, paying tribute to Death Becomes Her (1992) and Psycho (1960). Surprisingly, they lock lips after making several attempts to finish each other off with pretty gratuitous murders. Ortega then brutally attacks the boyfriend with a chainsaw. At the funeral, Oretga and Carpenter bond over the “trauma” the boyfriend put them through and how “insecure” he was.
