Just as summer couldn’t get any hotter, one of the world’s most prolific power couples has broken thermostats yet again! As her mega successful Cowboy Carter Tour continues to break records, Beyoncé decided to give her Paris audience the ultimate surprise: A performance with none other than Jay-Z.
Jay-Z crashes the show!
During her final show in Saint-Denis on June 22, the power couple reignited a plethora of nostalgic flames, marking their first performance together in seven years. Starting with an energetic delivery of their 2003 smash hit “Crazy in Love”, the performance continued with a mashup of “Drunk in Love,” “Partition,” and “N***** in Paris“. The latter of which, Jay-Z, originally performed with Kanye West. The “Crazy in Love” performance, which was one of the main highlights of the evening, rekindled countless memories of their early careers and the moments that solidified them as music icons.
Jay-Z’s clever wordplay delights the crowd
During his verse in “N***** in Paris,” Jay-Z slightly altered the lyrics, replacing “Ye” with “Bey” in the line: “B***h, behave. Just might let you meet Bey,” a slight dig at West amid ongoing tensions between the two, following West’s controversial remarks about Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s children. As a result, the couple was reportedly considering taking legal action against West. As they gleefully sang along, the crowd roared with excitement, putting the cherry on top of another successful show. To date, Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter album has received numerous accolades, including Best Country Album and Album of the Year at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards.
With her globally successful Cowboy Carter Tour, Beyoncé has seemingly broken her own record with another cultural phenomenon. One of the largest and most successful tours of 2025, the Paris shows marked the end of Beyoncé’s European leg of the tour. Shows will resume in the US, with stops in Washington, Atlanta, Houston, and Las Vegas.
