On December 10th, 2024, James Kennedy, who is known for starring in the American reality series Vanderpump Rules, was arrested at his Los Angeles home on suspicion of domestic violence. Following his recent arrest, the 32-year-old DJ’s upcoming performances have been canceled. So far, Kennedy’s representatives haven’t commented on the alleged cancellations.
Cancelled Shows
Consequently, Kennedy’s Las Vegas performance in the new year has been canceled—specifically, his three scheduled shows at the famous LIV Nightclub in the Fontainebleau Hotel in January. As of December 13, however, Kennedy’s name no longer appears on the nightclub’s website calendar. Additionally, Kennedy’s Komodo set in Dallas, Texas, was removed from the venue’s website, suggesting the show has been canceled too. Furthermore, a fan account revealed an email from a Ticketmaster company, Universe, seemingly confirming this cancellation.
Background on Incident
Accordingly, a spokesperson for the Burbank Police Department stated that authorities responded to a call around 11:30 p.m. on December 10. The phone call regarded an argument between James Kennedy and an unnamed woman. Although officers didn’t see any visible injuries upon arriving at the scene, the caller alleged that Kennedy became physical with the women. This accusation prompted the police to take action, leading to Kennedy being taken into custody.
Following an investigation, authorities determined that the Kennedy’s incident involved domestic matters. His arrest resulted in Kennedy being booked on misdemeanor domestic violence charges. Subsequently, Kennedy posted his $20,000 bail and was released from jail. According to the Burbank City Attorney’s office, the case is currently under review, where formal charges will be determined. Notably, Kennedy lives with his girlfriend and fellow Vanderpump Rules co-star, Ally Lewber, in Burbank, California. However, it’s unclear whether Lewber was the woman involved in the original incident.
In a statement released by James Kennedy’s attorney, Scott Leemon, he addressed Kennedy’s recent arrest. Mainly, they acknowledged the Burbank Police Department’s allegations against the reality star. Additionally, they indicated that they’re conducting their own investigation regarding the domestic violence incident. Fortunately, they also noted that no injuries were reported and expressed hope that the city’s attorneys would choose not to pursue formal charges.
James Kennedy’s Behavior
Before his arrest, Kennedy and Lewber attended Kathy Hilton’s annual holiday party. However, sources say the couple weren’t together for most of the event. Likewise, they also state that Kennedy’s behavior at the event was bizarre, with a source describing his behavior as erratic. Moreover, Kennedy visited the bar frequently, bumping into people along the way. While he appeared intoxicated and was alone, people said that Kennedy seemed irritated and rude in his few interactions. Surprisingly, Kennedy went on Instagram to promote his upcoming Dallas show the day after his arrest. As previously reported, however, the Dallas show was canceled too.
New York Post Interview
Days before James Kennedy’s arrest, Lewber spoke publicly about their relationship. In a New York Post interview on December 8, she shared that their relationship was stronger than ever. After announcing a Vanderpump Rules reboot involving an all-star cast, Lewber initially expressed she was looking forward to a more private life. During that time, she could happily focus on her relationship with Kennedy without the intense scrutiny of being a reality television star.
