Brian Burkheisier, co-founding vocalist of the rock band I Prevail, has announced his departure from the band after ten years. It’s never easy when a band has to make an announcement like this, especially when the leaving member has been with the band since the very beginning. This time around, there’s no drama between the members, and there’s no bad blood, as Brian had to leave the band due to health reasons, making the split even more sad.

I Prevail Part Ways With Brian Burkheiser

I Prevail has made the sad announcement that they will be parting with one of their co-founding vocalists, Brian Burkheiser. Brian had been away from the band for quite some time now due to health reasons, as he has Eagle’s syndrome, according to AXS TV.

AXS TV explained, “Eagle’s syndrome is a rare disorder resulting from an elongated or misshapen bone located just below the ear, or complications with a nearby ligament, leading to severe nerve-like pain in various areas, including the jaw, throat, and base of the tongue, especially during actions like swallowing and moving the jaw.”

Due to his absence, I Prevail has leaned heavily upon co-vocalist Eric Vanlerberghe to take over on all vocals while touring. Guitarist Dylan Bowman will also assist with vocals, as they want to make sure the transition without Burkheiser is as seamless as possible.

The band assured fans that Brian Burkheiser’s leaving the band was amicable, and they are on good terms despite everything. They even thanked him for the ten years that they spent making music together, and that they respected and supported his decision, no matter what.

The Band Issues A Statement

The band issued a statement to fans, confirming that Brian Burkheiser was indeed leaving the band. It said, “Today, we share that we are mutually parting ways with Brian Burkheiser. This was a difficult decision, but we believe it is the right one, and we are all grateful for the 10 epic years we shared together. We wish Brian nothing but success and happiness in his future endeavors.

Moving forward, Eric will continue to be the powerhouse frontman you’ve come to know and love. He’ll be backed up live by Dylan, who you’ve seen in this role many times over the years at the shows we’ve performed without Brian. Rest assured, we will continue to deliver the high-energy shows that we’ve made a pillar of our band, and we will continue to perform all the bangers from our catalogue. All scheduled shows will go on exactly as planned.”

Many fans were shocked about the news, while others, knowing about Brian Burkheiser’s medical issues, weren’t surprised about the decision. Regardless, fans promise to stand behind the band and Brian and support them in any way they can.
