Hunter x Hunter manga creator Yoshihiro Togashi is reducing outside commitments as he deals with physical and mental health problems. In an Oct. 5 statement reported by Oricon, he said future requests with deadlines would be declined after he finishes work already accepted.
Hunter x Hunter manga: What the work update means
Togashi plans to give his own manuscripts priority. He said he would post another update on X when he can resume producing them. His statement does not announce the manga’s cancellation or provide a publication date.
The next chapter remains unscheduled
The latest published batch covered Chapters 411 through 420, appearing between June 29 and Sept. 7. Oricon reports that the next installment’s timing is undecided.
Weekly serialization ended in December 2022 after discussions between Togashi and the magazine’s editors about his health. That distinction matters: gaps between chapter batches are part of the series’ current publication arrangement, rather than proof that the story has ended.
