Storyline for Nine Puzzles (So far)

The storyline has been kept a secret for some time, but the release of the Hulu trailer finally gives us a sneak peek into what we are getting into with this chilling thriller. The story begins with a young teen by the name of Jo I-na standing in an eerily quiet house. She discovers that her uncle had been murdered, and the only thing the killer left behind was a single puzzle piece. A decade later, she is a criminal profiler specializing in murder cases with the killer’s signature puzzle piece.

She teams up with Detective Han Sam, the same detective who worked her uncle’s case 10 years ago and who has been haunted by the cold case ever since. Her lack of memories leading up to her uncle’s death has him growing more suspicious of her, especially when the killer starts sending Jo I-na packages with puzzle pieces. Speculations and tension lurk about and unnerve the crime solvers as they work to uncover the truth and find the killer.

Nine Puzzles will premiere Episode 1 through Episode 6 on May 21, 2025. Two new episodes will be released in the next three weeks on Wednesday. Yoon wants the viewers to start piecing their puzzles together on who the culprit could be. He hopes to treat the audience with the upcoming episodes as the pieces fall into place on the identity of an elusive serial killer.
