Monster Family was originally released on February 9th, 2018, and was directed by Holger Tappe. It will remain on Hulu until October 8th, 2024. Monster Family is summarized as follows: “Despite the title, the Wishbone family is far from happy. To reconnect as a family, Mum Emma plans a fun night out. However, her plan backfires when an evil witch curses them and turns them into monsters.”

The film originally went by Happy Family; however, it most fittingly changed for the better when considering the movie’s material. Monster Family stars Dirk Stollberg, Emily Watson, and Jason Isaacs and received a 4.8/10 on IMDb. The ratings make the removal of the movie expected; however, the film remains fun and lighthearted for viewing with young ones before it leaves the network.

My Friend Dahmer (2017)

My Friend Dahmer was released on April 21st, 2017, directed by Mark Myers and is based on the book My Friend Dahmer by John Backderf. The story of the film follows the real events of young Jeffrey Dahmer as he tries to maneuver his awkward adolescent life in high school before he becomes the notorious serial killer years later. Originally, the film had grossed 1.4 million dollars at the box office with a budget of 1.5 million dollars. Rotten Tomatoes gives my friend Dahmer an 86% on the Tomatometer. The film stars Rosa Lynch, Alex Wolff, and Anne Heche. The film will leave the Hulu streaming platform on October 14th, 2024.

The Omen

Hulu will also be getting rid of the 1976 horror mystery thriller classic The Omen. Directed by Richard Donner and written by David Seltzer, the film follows a series of mysterious deaths around an American ambassador when the question is raised: could the child that he is raising be the Antichrist (The devil’s son)? The film won an Academy Award in 1977 for Best Musical Original Score by Jerry Goldsmith for the song Ave Santani.

The movie has done very well amongst audiences, receiving a 7.5 out of 10 IMDb rating with 137,000 ratings. On Rotten Tomatoes, The Omen received 85% on the Tomatometer. The Omen has created nine total prequel sequels or spin-offs for the franchise. In fact, Omen IV: The Awakening (1991) will also be leaving Hulu on October 14th, 2024. So if you want to get knee-deep in fear, check out The Omen series before they leave Hulu.
