Kevin Costner released the first part of his latest modern Western movie, Horizon: The American Saga Chapter One, last fall in 2024. Those who enjoyed the first chapter are in luck, as the second installment will be released in the US in less than two weeks on February 7th.
Many fans of the popular series Yellowstone saw the star actor leave the series before the final season began to work on filming and directing the second chapter. The first chapter did not have the best overall ratings from the box office, but it did bring in enough views to continue filming the next part of the movie.
Horizon: The American Saga Chapter Two Gets Release Date
According to CBR, the second chapter of Horizon will be released on February 7th in North America. After the first chapter hit movie theaters worldwide last June, the original release date for chapter two was postponed. Unfortunately, the ratings and numbers for the first installment did not stay hot for very long. Costner spent a lot of time making the film as it is separated into different segments and locations.
Chapter One Summary/Cast
The film has a great cast with Kevin Costner, Sam Worthington, Abbey Lee, Luke Wilson, Sienna Miller, and many more aspiring actors and actresses. It shows the huge amount of effort and time it took to create each scene and the action that takes place.
As the first chapter explores different locations, there are certain aspects to dissect. Starting with the Apache Indians raiding a set of land that involved the Kittredge family, The father and son were killed as a result of the assault. As the mother (Frances) and daughter (Elizabeth) escape through an underground tunnel, they find a way out. They fall into the hands of an army who are searching for the Apache men who took out all of the families at their camp.
While traveling, MariGold, played by Abbey Lee, runs into town as her mother and father are looking to make a deal with two guys selling land. While running around town, MariGold spots Hayes Ellison (Costner), the out-of-town horse trader, and soon flees from town with her son after someone is sent to kill her.
On horseback, Hayes and MariGold spot some of the Apaches at a nearby campsite. With thoughts of speaking with the Apache, she runs into a man who promises to care for her and her young child. Gunfights break out as more of the Apache Indians fight for their land, which involves a young boy moving ahead of the rest of his group.
Horizon: Chapter One Streaming On Netflix
With box office numbers low for the first chapter, it still reached the top three on Netflix. The low numbers were due to the shortcomings based on a $100 million budget for the entire film. Horizon: Chapter One only made $38.7 million at the box office. Since the story is incomplete, there is still time for viewership and numbers to increase as the second chapter is released. Chapter One lasted over three hours of screen time.
Conclusion
The next chapter could approximately be the same time duration as it is a continuation of chapter one. It will be interesting to see what goes on as the story reaches a new level in the second chapter of the Western film.
