A Hollywood management firm and a gaming investor are teaming up to find the next big video game adaptation. Entertainment 360 and Griffin Gaming Partners announced Monday the launch of HITpoint Entertainment, a joint venture that will develop games into film and TV projects, The Hollywood Reporter reported.
Entertainment 360, a talent management and production company in Los Angeles’ Century City, brings the Hollywood side of the deal. Griffin, a Santa Monica venture capital firm that invests only in gaming, brings the industry connections. HITpoint will find game properties, develop them, attach talent and produce the finished projects. The partners said they’re open to every genre gaming covers, from horror and action to romance, comedy and coming-of-age stories.
What HITpoint Entertainment plans to do
HITpoint wants to spot promising game IP early and match it with filmmakers who know the source material. The company plans to pursue both blockbuster AAA franchises and fast-rising independent games, according to GamesBeat. Game creators will stay involved from early development through production.
“For younger audiences, games aren’t a side interest. They are where many of their favorite characters, stories, and worlds live,” Entertainment 360 said in a statement. “There has long been an infrastructure in Hollywood for discovering books and other underlying material early.
“HITpoint brings that same focus to gaming. Together with Griffin, we can identify compelling IP at an early stage, bring it into a development environment, and pair it with filmmakers who genuinely understand the material and what makes it special.”
Peter Levin, co-founder and managing director of Griffin Gaming Partners, explained the challenge the venture aims to solve. “Video games represent one of the most exciting sources of stories and characters for film and television, but adapting them successfully requires a real understanding of the creativity and passion developers bring to their work,” Levin said.
Why gaming IP matters to fans
The companies made their case with audience numbers. They estimate more than 3.7 billion people worldwide play video games. They also said Gen Z, which they said made up nearly 40% of North American moviegoers last year, ranks gaming as its favorite form of entertainment.
Recent hits back that up. “A Minecraft Movie,” Amazon’s “Fallout” and HBO’s “The Last of Us” have all found big audiences on screen. For fans of those franchises and others, a company built solely to develop game adaptations could mean more of them reach theaters and streaming services.
Context on the partner companies
Entertainment 360’s production credits include “Game of Thrones,” “Ripley” and “Stick.” It already has a foot in gaming, too. Its clients are writing and starring in the upcoming live-action “The Legend of Zelda” film, and the firm is producing an adaptation of an undisclosed Atari property for Universal. Entertainment 360 was founded in 2002. In 2025, it took its first outside funding, a strategic minority stake from investment firm Carlyle.
Griffin manages more than $1.6 billion and recently launched a fund for indie games, which HITpoint will draw on to find breakout titles. Levin himself played a key role in bringing “Fallout” to TV.
“Griffin has spent many years building trusted relationships across the gaming community, from major publishers to the independent studios we support,” Levin said. “We see this vehicle as a differentiating resource for our 100+ portfolio companies, our strategic partners as well as the gaming ecosystem writ large. I couldn’t be more excited to partner with the team at Entertainment 360 and give fans new ways to experience the stories they already love.”
What’s next for HITpoint
HITpoint hasn’t named any games or franchises it plans to adapt, and no financial terms were disclosed. The Atari project is an existing Entertainment 360 deal, not a HITpoint project. The companies said they’ll announce the people who will run HITpoint later.
