Heartland seasons 1-19 Netflix availability is official. Netflix now carries the first 19 seasons of the long-running Canadian family drama, giving fans a single home to watch nearly two decades of the show from the beginning, according to TV Insider.
The addition covers the bulk of the series’ run. Heartland has produced 20 seasons and nearly 280 episodes since it premiered on Oct. 14, 2007, according to TV Insider. With 19 of those seasons now on Netflix, viewers can work through almost the entire story without hunting across multiple services.
What’s New With Heartland On Netflix
Seasons 1 through 19 of Heartland are streaming on Netflix, according to TV Insider. The show follows Amy Fleming, played by Amber Marshall, a horse trainer who inherits her late mother’s gift for healing troubled horses as she works through family, love and life on a ranch. Shaun Johnston plays Jack Bartlett, Amy’s grandfather. The series is based on the book series by Lauren Brooke.
Heartland is recognized as Canada’s longest-running one-hour scripted drama, according to TV Insider. That status, paired with the show’s new availability on Netflix, makes it easier for both longtime fans and newcomers to watch the series from its earliest episodes through nearly two decades of story.
Where Else Heartland Is Available
Netflix is not the only place to find the show. Seasons 1 through 19 are also streaming on UP Faith & Family, according to TV Insider. Heartland can additionally be watched on Hulu and Peacock, which generally cover seasons up to around Season 14 or 15, according to TV Insider.
That spread of platforms means viewers who already subscribe to Hulu or Peacock can start the series there, while those who want access to the full 19-season run currently have Netflix and UP Faith & Family as their options.
What To Know Before Starting The Series
Heartland is set on a family horse and cattle ranch in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, near the fictional town of Hudson, Alberta, according to TV Insider. Exterior scenes for Hudson are filmed in High River, Alberta, roughly 30 minutes south of Calgary. The ranch house and barn scenes are shot on a private cattle ranch near Millarville, Alberta.
Those real Alberta locations give the series its backdrop for the Fleming family’s ranch life, horse training storylines and small-town setting that have carried the show across 19 seasons.
What’s Next For Heartland
Season 20 of Heartland is scheduled to premiere Thursday, Nov. 19, on UP Faith & Family, according to TV Insider. That gives fans who catch up through Netflix’s new batch of seasons a clear next step once they reach the end of Season 19.
