The list of nominees for the 82nd Golden Globes was announced early Monday, officially kicking off Hollywood’s awards season. “Emilia Pérez” and “The Brutalist” were the film leaders. Leading in television nominations were “The Bear” and “Shōgun.” Netflix received the most nominations in the film category, with 13, and on the television side, with another 23.
The Golden Globes awards were launched in 1944 by foreign journalists covering Hollywood to recognize creative talent. They have become one of the industry’s premier entertainment awards for the best in film and television. Actors Mindy Kaling and Morris Chestnut announced the nominations at 8:15 a.m. ET.
Film Golden Globe Nominees
The avant-garde film “Emilia Pérez” led all Golden Globes nominees with 10, including nominations for Best Motion Picture Musical or Comedy, Lead Actress in a Musical or Comedy for Karla Sofía Gascón, and Supporting Actress for Selena Gomez and Zoe Saldaña. The epic “The Brutalist” captured seven nominations, including for Best Motion Picture Drama, Lead Actor in a Drama for Adrien Brody, Supporting Actor for Guy Pearce, and Supporting Actress for Felicity Jones.
Television Golden Globes Nominees
“The Bear” led with five nominations in the television category, followed by “Only Murders in the Building” and “Shōgun” with four each. All three shows can be found on the Hulu Channel.

The Golden Globes awards will be telecast on January 5, live on CBS and streaming service Paramount. Comedian Nikki Glaser will be this year’s host. This year’s Golden Globes will honor television legend Ted Danson with the Carol Burnett Award.
