ASTROBOTANICA Launches on Steam Early Access With Science‑Focused Survival and Expansive Roadmap

ASTROBOTANICA launches Monday, Feb. 16, on Steam Early Access, introducing a science‑driven survival game set on prehistoric Earth. Developed by Warsaw‑based Space Goblin Studio, the title focuses on botany, exploration and environmental problem‑solving rather than combat. The launch follows months of community feedback, a new teaser trailer and growing interest in the studio’s debut project.

A Survival Game Built on Science and Discovery

Players begin the game 300,000 years in the past as an alien botanist who crash‑lands on Earth during a mission to save their home planet. Because the character cannot breathe the planet’s oxygen‑rich atmosphere, survival depends on plant cultivation, tonic creation and scientific experimentation. The studio describes the game as a relaxed survival experience that rewards curiosity and observation.

Early Access for ASTROBOTANICA launches with one large island and several smaller surrounding islands. The world includes environmental puzzles, hidden areas and an introductory questline that teaches the game’s core systems before opening into free exploration. According to the developers, fully exploring the available content can take dozens of hours for players who enjoy searching for secrets and completing environmental challenges.

At launch, players can:

  • Build bases and shelters
  • Grow gardens and cultivate rare plant species
  • Craft tools and equipment
  • Brew tonics for survival and healing
  • Tame animals and give simple commands
  • Form relationships with early humans
  • Begin progressing through the P.R.I.M.A.L. ability system

Space Goblin Studio said these systems form the foundation for a larger experience that will expand throughout Early Access. The studio confirmed the Early Access price at $19.99. This 15% launch discount will run for 14 days. The developers said this will be the lowest planned price for the foreseeable future.

Community Feedback Shaped Key Features

Space Goblin Studio credited the community for influencing major parts of the game. After ASTROBOTANICA ranked among the top 100 demos during Steam Next Fest, the team rebuilt the inventory system, upgraded level art and improved performance across a wider range of hardware. The game has more than 83,000 wishlists on Steam!

New ‘Sprout Out’ Episode Released Before Launch

On Sunday, the studio released Episode 7 of “Sprout Out,” the official Webtoon series set in the same universe. The episode arrived one day before launch and continues the story with what the developers described as an unconventional turn in exploration. The series offers additional world‑building for players who want to learn more before starting the game.
