Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Will Give Players the Option of In-Game Cheats on Switch 2

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is getting a Switch 2 and Xbox port coming this summer, and with it, players will also be able to enjoy all the mini games Rebirth has to offer. There are 18 different mini games you can play in Rebirth, from 3D Brawler to Fort Condor to Gears and Gambits. Many players have found some of these mini games extremely difficult to beat; however, Square Enix is gifting players with a bunch of Boost features to help even the difficulty of these mini games in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.

Last week, Square Enix announced a Switch 2 port of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth during the Nintendo Direct Presentation, which also revealed many new games coming to Switch 2. During this time, it was also revealed that Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth would have an Xbox port as well, effectively making this game a full multi-platform title.

The Switch 2 port of the game will drop on June 3, 2026, and is now available for pre-order; however, it’s been reported that the game has already sold out on the Square Enix store. This alludes to the excitement fans are feeling with Rebirth becoming available on many different platforms. And of course, with the release of Rebirth on the Switch 2, you’ll be able to access all the mini games.

Rebirth Mini Games Getting Many Boost Features

The Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth mini games have been known to be a little annoying at times because some of them are pretty difficult to beat. Gears and Gambits, 3D Brawler, and even the non-combative mini game Piano have been especially difficult for players to get through, let alone complete. Rebirth is one of the best JRPGs of the past decade, even though it’s a remake. However, many people have criticized Rebirth because of the sheer volume of minigames, many of which you can’t skip.

Recently, Final Fantasy director Naoki Hamaguchi posted on X, the boost features that have been added to the mini games to make playing and completing them easier for players who have a hard time with them. These boost features may let you do infinite damage during combative mini games, or you may spawn with max materials and recovery items. Hamaguchi’s post showcases some of these boost features, though we’d have to wait and see the extent to which these boost features will aid players.

Hamaguchi’s post features two clips of separate mini-game gameplay: the first of which is the mini-game Gears and Gambit, which shows Sephiroth fighting against an enemy doing 9,999 damage, which is the max damage output you can reach. The second clip shows Yuffie demolishing cactuars in the Corel region’s Protorelic questline. These are just a couple of the many boost features that will become available to players when Rebirth launches on Switch 2. Here’s what Hamaguchi explains in his post:

“Launching on June 3 for Xbox and Switch 2, FFVII REBIRTH also includes the popular Boost features from the previous title.”

“For players who find mini‑games difficult, a new “9999 Damage” assist option has been added. We hope these features help everyone enjoy the adventure in a way that best fits their playstyle.”

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is slated to release on Switch 2 this summer. The Switch 2 edition of the game sold out on the Square Enix store just 3 days after the announcement of the Switch 2 version, and though it is expected that Square Enix will replenish stock very soon, this is a testament to how popular this trilogy is and how excited fans are about the third and final part expected to release next year.
