State of Play Drops New Resident Evil Requiem Trailer 2 Weeks Before Launch

PlayStation’s State of Play revealed a ton of new game trailers for upcoming games, and Capcom just dropped a new trailer for Resident Evil Requiem, with a couple of weeks until launch day. The trailer reveals a bunch of exciting details about the newest installment in the series, including character reveals and more about Leon. Here’s all that was shown in the new trailer for Resident Evil Requiem during PlayStation’s State of Play.

PlayStation State of Play

PlayStation just premiered its State of Play for 2026, revealing a bunch of new game trailers and announcements for upcoming games. Some of the most notable announcements include the new John Wick video game, the newest Silent Hill game, Silent Hill Townfall, the God of War Trilogy remake, and the newest trailer for Resident Evil Requiem, which is set to release in just a couple of weeks. This trailer reveals more gameplay footage and story reveals.

PlayStation’s State of Play made many exciting announcements, including a new trailer for Resident Evil Requiem, which is set to release in just a couple of weeks. This trailer reveals more gameplay footage, including zombies roaming around the streets of Raccoon City, more interactions between Leon and Grace, the reveal of the iconic Raccoon City police station from the second game, and it has also been revealed that Sherry Birkin will make her return alongside Leon in this installment.

Sherry only appeared for a split second; however, it seems she is working as a liaison for Leon while he investigates everything in Raccoon City. 3 new characters are also revealed during this trailer: Victor Gideon, the main antagonist of Requiem, Nathan Dempsey, Grace’s supervisor at the FBI, and Emily, a pale, young, white-haired girl, who seems to be blind, and Grace finds in the Rhodes Hill Chronic Care Center.

Leon is also revealed to be infected somehow. It’s not known what kind of infection he has, but it seems that it is part of his investigation, and he is running out of time. We were first teased about this infection after fans took screenshots of Leon’s neck from a previous trailer, which looked to be black and bruised. Now, in this trailer, his infection is fully shown on his hand, which doesn’t bode well for this fan-favorite character; however, it isn’t the first time Leon’s had to deal with being infected.

Release Date Only 2 Weeks Away

Resident Evil Requiem is set to launch on February 27, just a couple of weeks away. I honestly didn’t think Capcom had more to show us and reveal; however, this new trailer that premiered on PlayStation’s State of Play gave us a lot more insight into many details opf the game, as well as clarifying a lot of rumors that fans have been speculating, such as Leon’s infection. Now, I don’t belive Capcom is going to drop any more trailers, given how close the release date is; however, I wouldn’t rule out anything just yet.

Resident Evil Requiem will be available to play on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam. The game is available now to pre-order, with both a standard and deluxe edition available to purchase, as well as pre-order rewards such as the Apocalypse costume for Grace and the Deluxe Edition that will include five bonus costumes, four weapon skins, two screen filters, and two weapon charms. Don’t miss out on the launch for one of the most anticipated games of 2026.
