High on Life 2 – Who is Reptical and How Do You Defeat Him?
The long-awaited sequel to High on Life 2, one of the funniest action-adventure games I’ve ever played, has just debuted, and it is better than I could have imagined. Continuing the story from the first game, Squanch Games gives us more action and even funnier interactions.
One such interaction comes from a new character, Reptical, a bounty hunter hell-bent on killing you and your sister, Lizzie, who becomes an intergalactic wanted criminal. Reptical is a Reptile-like alien who rides a skateboard and is the very first boss you encounter. Here’s a full guide on how to beat Reptical in High on Life 2.
What Does Reptical Do?
Reptical is a bounty hunter we meet early on in the game. High on Life 2 takes place a few years after the first game, and in this time skip, we are the most famous and beloved bounty hunters in the galaxy. As we make our promotional tour, going on talk shows and signing autographs for fans, our sister Lizzie becomes a resident badass and the leader of the radical organization, the Bleeding Stars. Her involvement with the Bleeding Stars puts a bounty on her head, making her a wanted criminal.
This is where Reptical comes in, as he is one of the countless bounty hunters gunning for her bounty. As Lizzie is our sister, of course, we would try to save her. When we first make contact with Lizzie is when we meet Reptical, who witnesses us killing the other bounty hunters, which is a huge taboo among bounty hunters. This prompts Reptical to also target us, which makes him the first boss enemy we encounter in the game.
The main thing Reptical does during the fight is skate around the area while shooting back at you. He uses a burst-fire gun that unleashes projectiles. Reptical also uses bombs that unleash poison gas when he throws them. The last skill Reptical can do is that he can release large amounts of poison gas randomly throughout the area. The fact that he moves around the area quite often and really fast makes this a pretty annoying boss battle. So, how do we beat Reptical?
How to Beat Him
Before the fight, we steal Reptical’s skateboard and learn how to use it via a hilarious tutorial by a real guy dressed in a green alien suit. Learning to use the skateboard will help you keep up with Reptical during the fight. The best tactic to use against Reptical is using Sweezy’s Time Bubble attack, which will significantly slow him down for several seconds.
Switch to Gus to do increased damage, and this will help you whittle his HP really quickly. If you get close enough to him, you get the chance to use Knifey and cut off his arm, which will also do increased damage against him, though, since he is a reptile, his arm will grow back. However, this will allow you many chances to cut his arm. If you repeat these actions until his HP reaches zero, you win.

High on Life 2 is the sequel to the hilarious action-adventure game that came out in 2022. Since then, Squanch Games has teased a sequel for fans, and it is finally out. This sequel is ambitious and even more hilarious than the first, returning as the Bounty Hunter, with all of our hilarious weapons, Lizzie, Gene, and Suit-o.
