Gear.Club Unlimited 3 – This Looks Like a Pumping Racing Game!
Gear.Club Unlimited 3 is an upcoming racing game that looks like it will be full of slick driving and racing thrills. The game is coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 on February 19th, and will be released on other consoles and PC later on. So, how does the game look? Well, two trailers have been released, so let’s dive into them.
The Gear.Club Unlimited 3 Reveal Trailer
The reveal trailer is about feelings rather than gameplay. As dramatic music plays, a narrator opens the trailer with one word: “passion.” As a yellow racecar is slowly revealed in shadowy lighting, he continues, saying: “prestige, each line, each curve – they embody our dreams.” The narrator continues in this manner as the car is lifted into a garage, revealing its license plate – “GEAR.CLUB.” Finally, the car goes zooming down the road, racing against another car before the title flashes.
This trailer focuses largely on the thrill of racing. The narration and visuals try to stimulate adrenaline in the viewer, inviting them to go rushing down the road in a speedy racecar. However, it also doesn’t do much to distinguish Gear.Club Unlimited 3 from the countless other racing games on the market. People who are already fans of the Gear.Club Unlimited series will be excited, but this trailer alone is unlikely to excite people who aren’t familiar with the series.
The Gear.Club Unlimited 3 Gameplay Trailer
Fortunately, there’s another trailer that shows more of what the game is actually about. This trailer starts off with plenty of quick cuts of different races, including a first-person perspective. Rock music plays in the background to get the audience pumped for what’s to come. The first thing it advertises is the ability to race in France and Japan, saying “two countries, one journey.” This could mean that there is some kind of story mode that connects the two countries.
The trailer also tells us that “control is everything,” showing a bar on the screen that seems to be filling up based on the player’s acceleration. There’s also a “duel mode,” where cars can battle 1 v. 1. You can build your own club, customizing your cars, which sounds like a fun feature for players who like a little creativity in their racing games. There are several shots of garages, which seem to be where you can keep the cars you unlocked.
There are “more than 40 licensed cars,” and presumably most of them will be unlockables, which could have you playing for a while if you care about unlocking everything. There will also be local multiplayer, where you can, as the trailer puts it, “challenge your friendship.” Anyone who’s ever played a racing game with a friend should get a good laugh out of that statement. Overall, the trailer makes the game look like a lot of fun for racing fans or fans of multiplayer games.
So When Does Gear.Club Unlimited 3 Come Out?
Gear.Club Unlimited 3 comes to the Nintendo Switch 2 on February 19th. It will later be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Steam, but there is currently no release date for those systems. Presumably, the game will be released on those systems shortly after its Nintendo Switch 2 release, though nothing is certain as of the writing of this article.
I tend to enjoy arcade-like racing games such as Mario Kart more than realistic racing games, but Gear.Club Unlimited 3 has stimulated my interest, and that’s speaking as someone who hasn’t played the other games in the series. I hope I get to play it on my Switch 2 soon.
