Weekly Free Games on the Epic Games Store May 28-June 4, 2026

Gamers! Get excited! This week, the Epic Games Store has free games for PC, Mac, and mobile! That’s right. Even the Mac users have something to claim this week. We have a casual open-world sim (with a cat café), a rogue-lite strategy, and a mobile strategy game based on Norse mythology. Let’s dig in!

Calico

First up, the Epic Games Store is offering Calico. It’s available for both PC and Mac and is rated E for Everyone. This is an adorable life sim where you run a cat café in a community full of magical girls and other friends. Collect various pieces of furniture and decor for the shop. Befriend animals to live in the shop and to follow you as companions. And, it wouldn’t be a proper café without making food and drinks for your patrons.

I’ve played this game, and I remember finding it enchanting and relaxing. You can interact with the animals by playing with them, petting them, and more. And the whole game has a pastel, hand-drawn feel to it.

Calico is normally $11.99, so make sure to claim it now while it’s free. This is a fun and relaxing single-player game that you can share with the kids, too.

LONESTAR

LONESTAR is described as a “strategic Roguelike spaceship deckbuilder.” You take on the job of a bounty hunter for an organization called the Association. Choose your spaceship, hunt down wanted criminals, and gather new units and treasures as you progress in the game.

This Epic Games Store freebie is also rated E for Everyone. It is available for PC only. And it’s normally $12.99. It’s a single-player game, and it has 46 available achievements to earn!

Northgard

For those of you looking for something to play on your mobile device (Android only in the U.S.), the Epic Games Store on mobile has Northgard available for free right now. This strategy game is based on Norse mythology and puts you in charge of a clan of Vikings as you build up your settlement.

Vikings will need to be assigned to jobs like Farmer, Warrior, and Sailor. Like other games of this type, you’ll have resources to manage as you expand the territory and work towards one of several victory conditions. There’s a story mode and a multiplayer mode for up to six players. Multiplayer offers several modes as well, including: Duel, Free for All, and Teamplay.

After trying it for free, if you love playing Northgard, there are nine DLC add-ons to add to the available clans. So, similar to games like Civilization, there’s replayability here by choosing a different clan and working towards different victory conditions.

How to Claim Freebies From the Epic Games Store

Whether you want to play on your PC, Mac, Android, or iOS device (iOS is available only in the EU), you can find the download information on the Epic Games Store website. If you’re on a computer, you can download the  Epic Games Launcher to access and play your games. I know that’s not exactly shocking, and you probably figured that out already.

For the mobile games, you’ll need the QR code. Use the camera on your mobile device to scan the QR code, which will direct you to the download page. You will have to enable downloads from other sources. (Other than the native app store, that is.) This app isn’t available on the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store. After installing the app, launch it, sign in, and then scroll down to find the current free game.
