Weekly Free Games on the Epic Games Store Feb 12 – Feb 19, 2026

There’s a mushy holiday just around the corner, and some folks would rather just forget about it! No matter which camp you’re in, the Epic Games Store has a couple of free games just waiting for you to pick them up and escape into their fantastical worlds.

The second game we’ll discuss is rated Mature for its themes. But this first one is both PC- and Mac-compatible!

If you’ve been following us for a while, this title might look familiar. The Epic Games Store offered The Darkside Detective for free back in early December. A Fumble in the Dark starts after the first game, and this time around, Detective McQueen has six new cases to solve with your help. You’ll partner with your sidekick, Officer Dooley, again to save him and the city of Twin Lakes from the paranormal curse that plagues it.

A Fumble in the Dark is a humorous point-and-click adventure that will have you visiting a collection of locations like a carnival, retirement home, amateur wrestling circuit, and even Ireland as you fend off the Darkside. This one is compatible with both PC and Mac, has controller support, and is rated Teen by the ESRB. And, if you’d rather take this on the go, it’s available for free in the Epic Games Store mobile app as well this week.

Nobody Wants to Die

I wonder if this is an intentional theme this week. The second game, Nobody Wants to Die, is also a detective story, though this one is not a comedy. You’ll be exploring New York City in the year 2329 as you dive into an “interactive noir story.” Step into the shoes of Detective James Karra, who has just recently had a near-death experience and is now tasked with investigating a murderer who is targeting the elite.

The twist is that, in this dystopian future, humanity has conquered mortality (at least if you can afford it) by transferring consciousness into technology or even a new body. Your mission is “off the books,” and your assistance comes from a young police liaison, Sara Kai.

Nobody Wants to Die is a single-player, first-person point of view narrative simulation for PC. It has controller support and cloud saves. Note that this one is rated Mature 17+, so it may not be appropriate for everyone.

How to Claim Freebies From the Epic Games Store

Whether you want to play on your PC, Mac, Android, or iOS device, you can find the download information on the Epic Games Store website. If you’re on a computer, you can download the Epic Games Launcher to access and play your games. I know that’s not exactly shocking, and you probably figured that out already.

For the mobile games, you’ll need the QR code. Use the camera on your mobile device to scan the QR code, which will direct you to the download page. You will have to enable downloads from other sources. (Other than the native app store, that is.) This app isn’t available on the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store. After installing the app, launch it, sign in, and then scroll down to find the current free game.

And that’s what we have for you this week! Check back next week, and we’ll highlight the new game offerings from the Epic Games Store. We’re staying on top of the latest gaming news, so you don’t have to worry about any FOMO.

Happy gaming!
