Crimson Desert’s Trembling Woods Ruins Puzzle: 3 Broken Rings Become One Symbol
The Trembling Woods Ruins puzzle is one of the Thread in the Forest challenges scattered throughout Crimson Desert. It requires careful manipulation of three winches to align a set of rotating rings on a wall-mounted device.
Over the Hills and Through the Trembling Woods!
The ruins are found in Demeniss, positioned slightly north of Willow River and southwest of the Ironwood subregion. Its mark on the map is labeled as “Mysterious Energy.” Approaching from the north, you’ll see a rocky area to the east and a stream to the west. Take the narrow, rocky path to the east between these two landmarks; it will lead directly to the puzzle site.
You will see a large golden circumferential puzzle embedded into a rock wall with three winches in front of it. You must align all three of the rotatable rings to form the intended image carved and painted on them. From right to left, the Right Winch is connected to the embedded ring surrounding the fixed center circle. The Middle Winch is connected to the relief-style, wooden ring sandwiched between the puzzle. The Left Winch controls the outermost ring painted in golden coat.
Pre-Requisite Ability: Do You Know How to Stab?
Before attempting the puzzle, you’re gonna need more than just strength to turn one of these winches—particularly, the Left Winch. The Left Winch’s lever had been removed, thus the need for the Stab ability. You’re gonna need to unlock it in the Blue Stamina skill tree to form a makeshift lever.
Trembling Woods Ruins: Align the Picture
Rotate the three winches so that the rings on the circular puzzle align and form the correct symbols. The following steps will start from the inner ring to the outer ring. This is due to the stationary piece in the very center being a great starting point.
The Right Winch
Turn the Right Winch to move the ring around the fixed center. Stop when the white lines form two ruin circles at the top, and the moon symbol is on the lower left of the ring. A large ruin of the Sun will be on the right, and a medium Star ruin will be on the left.
The Middle Winch
Turning this winch will rotate the inner wooden ring. Turn and line up the ring’s large wooden window with the largest white ruin circle. The overall result will show that the windowed large pattern appears as a compass rose.
The Left Winch
This winch requires the stab skill. Using the sword, stab it into the winch to act as a new lever. This winch will turn the outer yellow circle of the puzzle. Keep turning until the three wooden windows align with the designated white ruin patterns.
Reap the Rewards
When all the puzzle’s rings are positioned correctly, the water in the area below will drain and reveal the Abyss Cresset. Completing this puzzle will reward you with the Abyss Artifact and establish a Fast Travel Teleport station.
