Overwatch Season 1 Hero Guide: Control The Skies As Jetpack Cat

Jetpack Cat was an original concept for Overwatch during its early stages. However, she did not feature in the game until Season 1 of Reign of Talon. Jetpack Cat is one of five new characters and the second support added this season. She has been a terror so far, resulting in her ban rate skyrocketing. He is all you need to know to support in the cutest way possible.

Jetpack – Permanent Flight

Jetpack Cat can permanently fly. However, some abilities can prevent her from flying for a short duration. Hack, Hinder, Sleep, Stun, and Displace will prevent her from flying.

Tactician – You can gain excess ultimate charge, which carries over after using your ultimate ability.

The subrole passive allows Jetpack Cat to generate additional ultimate charge in situations where you do not have an angle. However, you do not want to wait too long. The excess ultimate charge only generates 25%.

Biotic Pawjectiles – Mid‑range projectile spread that heals allies and damages enemies.

The projectiles have a maximum range before they disappear. However, there is no falloff in the healing or damage. The damage from the projectiles is substantial and can help eliminate an enemy swiftly. The healing is decent but will not save targets from high-burst situations.

Lifeline – Toggle into transport mode, gaining the ability to tow an ally. Increases movement speed and heals your ally.

Lifeline can change the shape of teamfights. Whether it is taking a teammate to high ground, delivering a B.O.B., or carting an ulting Cassidy, there is a ton Jetpack Cat can do with it. Keeping an ally in the air permanently is not recommended. It can make them an easy target and decrease their aim. It is even worse with a Tank, as their lack of presence can cause a fight loss. If an ally gets stuck on terrain, they detach automatically.

Frenetic Flight – Accelerate in your movement direction. Fuel recovery is slower while carrying another player.

Frenetic Flight is excellent for respositioning. Treat it as a way to change the angle of attack. Of course, it is amazing at rescuing or delivering teammates with Lifeline. Always be on the lookout for low health targets. Reacting quickly can help secure a pivotal kill.

Purr – Pulsing area heal that increases in frequency over time. Knockback any nearby enemies when activated.

Purr is Jetpack Cat’s only source of burst healing. However, it is not only useful for that. The knockback can help create distance between enemies or add to the damage to finish off a target.

Catnapper – Dive towards a ground location, knocking down enemies and tethering the nearest one to you.

Catnapper is a fight-winning ultimate by itself. The ability to drag someone out of position or off the map is instrumental. Identifying when to drag enemies to the team is paramount. Crucially, carrying Tanks reduces Jetpack Cat’s movement speed.

Queuing With Teammates Increases Value

Jetpack Cat can get value while playing solo. However, you lose value from Lifeline in most cases. Lifeline does require a level of communication. To get the most value out of the ability, you need to rely on teammates. Sometimes in Overwatch, teammates are not the best to rely on. However, if you are playing with friends, it will increase the ceiling of Lifeline’s value.

Be On the Lookout

Jetpack Cat is one of the best heroes at identifying critical health targets. She can survey the entire battlefield. If you spot a critical health target, be prepared to swoop in for the kill. Her fast movement, coupled with good damage output and threatening melee, will help secure those kills. There is little enemies can do in that situation, besides hope the Cat dies, or they get help from their team in time.

Avoid Permanent Lifeline

Permanent Lifeline can be fun at times. Flying your Reinhardt to battle the enemy flyers brings a different type of dopamine. However, you need to assess whether the value gained is worth the value lost. Because your Reinhardt is with you in the air, your team loses a lot. They no longer have a frontline, and their second support is preoccupied. Brief uses of Lifeline will serve you better in the long run.

Catnapper’s Usage

Because Catnapper can shape a fight, be ready to use it as soon as possible. The ultimate can decide a fight alone. Also, keep in mind that you do not always have to toss someone off the map. Dragging enemies to your team can garner value. If you are too far from the edge or there is an enemy Jetpack Cat, you might waste your ultimate. Putting an enemy in your team will almost always ensure a kill.
