Overwatch Season 1 Hero Guide: How To Be Lethal as Emre
Emre is a former Overwatch agent and friend of Freja. Now he returns to the fold, corrupted, but clinging to the last shreds of his humanity. Emre is one of five new heroes added to Overwatch in Season 1 of Reign of Talon. He has a basic kit that requires extra effort to get the most value from it. Below is all you need to know about the Ex Overwatch agent.
Overwatch: Emre Kit Breakdown

Altered Vitals – Passive health regeneration activates sooner and instantly restores 30 health when activated.
Emre’s Passive Regeneration begins one and a half seconds faster at four seconds instead of six and a half. The faster regeneration, coupled with the burst healing, helps Emre to play solo. He does not have the best mobility, so taking hard flanks can be dangerous.
Specialist – Eliminating an enemy briefly increases your reload speed.
The extra reload speed helps to increase Emre’s uptime. The reload is almost instant with the Specialist active. The buff lasts for three seconds after an elimination.
Synthetic Burst Rifle – Three-round burst weapon.
The base form of Emre’s rifle. It is most effective when fighting enemies at closer ranges. It has worse damage, fall off, and accuracy than his secondary fire. Players who have played with triple burst rifles in games like Apex, Call of Duty, or Destiny 2 will feel right at home.
Take Aim Hold to zoom in, tightening accuracy and increasing the fall-off range.
The damage from Take Aim is no different from the Primary Fire. The only difference is that when aiming down sights, the fall-off range is longer and the bullets have a tighter spread.
Siphon Blaster – Temporarily wield a semi-automatic pistol with life-stealing explosive rounds. Move faster and jump higher while wielded.
Siphon Blaster has multiple uses. The first can be for the lifesteal when at low health. The extra healing can be the difference between life and death. Alternatively, it can help to finish off close-range low-health enemies. Lastly, the movement capabilities are helpful. Whether you are running back from spawn, chasing down an enemy, or kiting someone, the increased movement speed will help. The verticality is another great addition, helping you reach high grounds faster.
Cyber Frag – Throw a grenade that detonates shortly after bouncing.
The Cyber Frag functions similarly to most grenades that FPS players have become accustomed to. You want to try to open up an engagement with the Cyber Frag for a quick burst on an enemy. Alternatively, you can pick off someone hiding behind cover or throw it at a cluster of enemies.
Override Protocol – An override initiates, transforming you into a living weapon. Fires rapid, explosive blasts or charged mega‑shots capable of wiping teams.
You can use primary or secondary fire to change the shots fired. The secondary fire has a reach charge time. As a result, you can fire three rapid primary fire shots before you can fire a high-burst shot again. The high burst is great at pressuring a cluster of enemies or catching someone hiding behind cover.

Overwatch: Becoming A Lethal Threat As Emre

Timing Your Peaks
Emre lacks the same lethality as other hitscans like Ashe, Widowmaker, and Sojourn have. However, you want to get the jump on enemies. A well-timed flank or well-placed Cyber Frag can allow for a Final Blow before they respond. Due to Emre’s relatively low mobility, he will struggle to escape dives. Be sure to time flanks when mobility cooldowns are down. Due to the nature of his weapon, jiggle peaking corners is a viable strategy.
Siphon Blaster Is A Mobility Tool
While you might want to keep Siphon Blaster for the lifesteal, you are wasting its value. The mobility aspect will help you find creative angles and surprise opponents. You will not need to lifesteal if the enemies are dead. The vertical mobility is slightly worse than something like Ashe’s coach gun. Try using terrain, jumping between platforms to reach higher spots on the map.
Override Protocol Does Not Make You Immortal
You might feel powerful in Emre’s ultimate, but there is a risk. You have limited mobility while flying. The heavy burst shot slows you down further. As a result, you want to be careful where you pop your ultimate. An accurate hitscan player or heroes like Ana or Bap can knock you out of the sky. Try to start your ultimate from cover to surprise enemies and make them panic.
