LCK Cup 2026 Playoff Match Preview: FearX Looking to Break T1’s Winstreak

T1 has not lost their previous seven best-of-five series. Their last loss came at the hands of Gen.G in the LCK 2025 Playoffs. FearX has the task of ending that streak in the LCK Cup Playoffs. It is not a simple one, but it is within the realm of possibility. Their previous meeting ended 2-1 in favor of T1 during the second week of the LCK Cup.

Recent LCK Match History

T1 and BFX have faced off once in the LCK Cup. T1 were the eventual winners, but BFX made them fight for it. Game two was almost another unwinnable comeback victory for T1. However, unlike KT Rolster, BFX managed to slam the door in their face.

T1’s Regular Season Form Was Impressive

In recent years, T1 has struggled to perform in the LCK. They have still been one of the best teams, but have not challenged for the title in a while. The last time T1 featured in an LCK final was Spring 2024. However, so far in 2026, they have been in better form. The only team that has shown better performances is Gen.G Esports. However, we have yet to see that matchup.

If T1 can maintain their regular-season form tomorrow, they might run over BFX. Unlike Gen.G, a T1 series does not end without multiple happy gaming moments. Many in Korea regard them as the T1 circus, for good reason. In the same breath, they can throw a lead and then follow it up with a dominant fight victory. Reading what T1 will do next is nigh impossible.

The Battle of the AD Carries

In the previous meeting between T1 and BFX, it was all about the AD carries. In each team’s victory, their AD carry came out on top. In the end, Peyz had the better of Diable. He dropped two dominant performances to help T1 to a 2-1 victory. Given the current meta and both players, nothing should change tomorrow. There is bound to be focus from both teams to get their bot lane ahead. Expect to see Raptor and Oner pay multiple visits. We could even see the inclusion of Faker and VicLa to help out their botlanes.

Faker’s Form

One of the downfalls for T1 during the LCK is Faker’s form. He has often been behind the other mids. His laning phase often puts him at a deficit. However, during the LCK Cup, Faker has seemed to find a different form. His laning has been on point, even securing a solo on Bdd. An on-form Faker is a scary prospect for any team. You can ask Bilibili Gaming how their experience was facing him during the 2024 World Championship. If he is still in form after the break, BFX might not have a chance in the series.

T1 Versus FearX Prediction

T1 3-1 FearX

There is no question that T1 is the favorite for this series. BFX has shown that they can compete with the best. However, an on-form T1 has a higher peak than that of BFX. If we see the Group Battle T1 return, BFX will have to be at their best to stand a chance. T1’s antics should allow for BFX to take a game during the series. T1 dropped a game in all but one of their series in the Group Battle. That did come against Dplus KIA in the only best-of-five series they played. However, that was a surprise given T1’s tendencies.

Gen.G Esports Waits

Earlier today, Gen.G Esports dispatched of Dplus KIA 3-1. The victor of tomorrow’s series will face Gen.G in the Upper Bracket Final. Fortunately, they will not have the pressure of ending Gen.G’s game-winning streak. The loser drops down to the Lower Bracket. As a higher seed than DK, either team will feature in Round 3 of the Lower Bracket.
