Ritz Cracker Sandwiches Recalled Due To Unlabeled Potentially Life-Threatening Allergen
Mondelēz Global LLC and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) have announced a voluntary recall of select cases of Ritz products due to a labeling issue. The recall is limited to one SKU and two Code Dates, which amounts to about 70 cases of the product. The new recall is an update to a previous one from back in July of this year. Here are the details.
Which Ritz Products Were Recalled?
The recall is for Ritz Peanut Butter Crackers Sandwiches. The affected products have mislabeled inner packaging that identifies the product as the cheese variety instead of the peanut butter variety. This could be potentially deadly to those individuals who have peanut allergies.
The Ritz Peanut Butter Cracker Sandwiches affected have “AE Plant Code Only” printed on the top of the packaging. These packages are the 27.6-ounce size (20 x 1.38-ounce, 6-pack carton), and they were sold in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma and Alabama. They will be marked with the retail UPC 44000 07584 2, and they will have use-by dates between January 8, 2026, and January 15, 2026. Mondelēz Global’s recall notice includes a photo of the item, as does the official FDA notice.
What to Do If You Purchased These Ritz Products
If you have purchased products affected by the recall and have a peanut allergy, it is recommended that you discard the products immediately before opening them. Currently, there have been no reports of illnesses or injuries related to the affected products.
