Fat Joe Allegedly Accused of Sexual Misconduct with Girls Under 18

Fat Joe

Fat Joe has been accused of sexual misconduct in a multi-million-dollar lawsuit filed in federal court by his former hype man. Terrance “T. A” Dixon claims in a complaint obtained by PEOPLE that the rapper, whose real name is Joseph Cartagena, “engaged in coercive labor exploitation, sexual manipulation, financial fraud, psychological coercion and violent intimidation.”

Dixon also alleges that he witnessed Cartagena have sexual relationships with 15- and 16-year-old children. A specific claim in the complaint alleges that the rapper would provide cash or pay for clothing and the cell phone bill of a 16-year-old girl in exchange for other sexual acts and oral sex. The rapper denied the allegations through his attorney, Joe Tacopina, calling Dixon’s lawsuit a blatant act of retaliation. The allegations against Mr. Cartagena are lies intended to damage his reputation and force a settlement through public pressure.

Terrance “T.A.” Dixon filed the complaint against Fat Joe, members of his inner circle and Roc Nation in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York on Thursday, where he is accused of forcing Dixon to engage in over 4,000 sex acts with women in a $20 million federal lawsuit, to maintain his standing with the Enterprise. He also said he was consistently underpaid, concealed from royalties, denied songwriting credits, and also concealed from backend compensation. Dixon was also an entertainer onstage with the rapper.

Fat Joe has hit back at explosive allegations of misconduct involving minors and employees, calling the claims fabricated. The rapper is already pursuing a defamation case against Dixon for alleged extortion and harassment. Tacopina added there’s legal precedent against Dixon’s lawyer, citing disciplinary proceedings and critical court rulings. He further said that the lawsuit was a desperate attempt to deflect attention from the civil suit that they filed first, which exposed their coordinated scheme to extort Fat Joe through lies, manufactured allegations, and threats.

The rapper’s team insists law enforcement is already aware of the charges and rejects the allegations levied against him as extortion attempts. The high-profile showdown could play out in court as both sides gear up for an intense legal war.
