‘All My Children’ Actress Esta TerBlanche Cause of Death Revealed

The Los Angeles County Department Medical Examiner’s office has released the cause of death for actress Esta TerBlanche. Issued on January 29, the medical examiner’s report stated that her death was caused by an intracranial hemorrhage caused by a blunt-force traumatic head injury. Furthermore, the actress’ injury may have been sustained from a fall, and also her death has been ruled an accident.

Annie Spoliansky Makes Statement on Actress Passing

Further details revealed that Terblanche was found unresponsive in her home on July 19. Moreover, paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the 51-year-old All My Children alum dead shortly after 11 a.m. that day. In a statement to PEOPLE on July 21, the actress’ manager, Annie Spoliansky, confirmed her passing. While expressing her deep sadness over the news, Spoliansky remembered Terblanche as a kind, loving, and caring person. 

She also highlighted the actress’ compassion for all living beings, evident in her daily routine of feeding and caring for squirrels in her neighborhood. Likewise, TerBlanche was also devoted to her two cats and their kittens. Additionally, Spoliansky shared that her loving nature left a lasting impression and that she was grateful for her time with the actress before her passing.

Former Co-Star Cameron Mathison’s Heartfelt Tribute

TerBlanche was a South African-born actress who began her career in the entertainment industry starring in the popular drama Egoli: Place of Gold, playing Bienkie Naudé Hartman. However, the actress’ breakout role came when she took the role of Gillian Andrassy Lavery on the soap opera All My Children, which she played from 1997 to 2001. 

Actor Cameron Mathison, who played TerBlanche’s on-screen husband, Ryan Lavery, paid a heartful tribute to his former co-star on Instagram. Specifically, he shared photos of the actress accompanied by broken heart emojis. While revealing a more personal connection with TerBlanche, Mathison shared a heartwarming story of how the actress had supported him during a difficult time when his dog, Red, was sick. Additionally, he called her “one of the sweetest people ever,” who left a lasting impression on those who knew her.
