Dragon Ball Super: Beerus on Netflix

New episodes of “Dragon Ball Super: Beerus” will reach Netflix six days after they first air in Japan and simulcast on Crunchyroll, which starts Oct. 11, according to What’s on Netflix. The outlet noted that Netflix used the same weekly lag for “Dragon Ball Daima” and “One Piece.”

In Japan, the series premieres Oct. 11 at 11:15 p.m. JST on Fuji TV and its affiliates, taking over the time slot “One Piece” left after its Sept. 27 episode, according to Anime News Network. Japanese viewers can also stream each episode on Amazon Prime Video and U-NEXT 30 minutes after broadcast. Fans at New York Comic Con can see the first episode early at the show’s Special Panel on Oct. 8.

What it means for fans

“Dragon Ball Super: Beerus” retells the original “Dragon Ball Super” rather than telling a new story. Akio Iyoku called it an “enhanced” edition that reconstructs the story and adds new and redrawn cuts, Anime News Network reported. The official announcement also promises re-rendered footage and newly recorded dubbing with added music and sound effects.

Staff said the anime “Dragon Ball Super … is set to begin anew as Dragon Ball Super: Beerus in Fall 2026,” according to Anime News Network. Matsuto Seya handles series composition and direction arrangement, Tadayoshi Yamamuro serves as character designer and general animation director, and Norihito Sumitomo composes the music. Kōichi Yamadera returns as the voice of Beerus. MEGATERA・ZERO performs the opening theme “ONOGAMI,” and VK Blanka performs the ending theme “Kan Peki No Peki.”

In the official synopsis, Earth has enjoyed a few peaceful years since the battle with Majin Buu when Beerus, the God of Destruction, wakes up. Rumors of a Saiyan who beat Frieza send him looking for Goku, and the planet ends up in his sights.

Despite the title, the series reaches beyond the Beerus saga. Its trailer shows material through the Resurrection ‘F’ and Universe 6 arcs, Popverse reported.
