Resident Evil Requiem’s Spider Boss: How To Crush The Giant 8-Legged Beast!

Where there’s Resident Evil, there is bound to be an insect-type monstrosity you will need to face. For Leon, he once again has to deal with some serious bug issues around the ruins of Raccoon City. For this encounter, get ready for one of the most skin-crawling giant spider battles since “The Mist!” The Spider boss creepily attacks Leon under the highway overpass, but Leon, being Leon, stands his ground and takes cover from the mutant arachnid inside a crumbling building.

The Introduction Chase

Saved by a crumpled entrance, Leon needs to sprint down the corridor, picking up some handgun ammo and using the axe to slash through the cobweb barriers blocking your path. Allow the way, the Spider will be crawling along with you on the outside, eventually busting through the walls when you turn the corner.

It’s then that you need to go back to where you came from while unloading some bullets between the fangs of the boss. Once at the closed entrance, keep unloading into the beast, and a cut scene will be triggered, witnessing Leon get whacked by a hairy leg that sends him through the wall into an open courtyard. (Don’t worry, folks! His face is just fine, so don’t panic.)

Mini-minions Upstairs

Once Leon recovers, don’t hesitate to run towards a dark corner in the courtyard and cut through the webs that block a metal door. Once you do, Leon kicks it shut, causing the Spider to collide into it. Continue to slash through webbing, collecting some ammo as you make your way upstairs. When you cross through an exposed hallway, you’ll round the corner to meet some spider babies that will be complete nuisances.

Careful! They Bite!

These small crawlers particularly have little to no HP, but they do have numbers. They can latch onto Leon and will slowly eat away at his health. It’s best to eliminate the swarm by using weapons that can do a wide range of damage, such as the shotgun or a grenade. If you want to make Leon’s life difficult, you can axe them too. Just be sure you have the meds for those small bites. We want him to be able to face the big baddy Spider and make it out in one piece.

The Hairy Showdown

Of course, turning the corner around here gets you face to face the Spider. It will surprise attack you, crashing through a wall, so I recommend having your shotgun (or whichever gun has the most ammo) in hand before this happens. Afterwards, head out to the exit, climb up the ladder, and there you will be entering the arena for the final fight.

Hit It In The Sack! (…On Its Back That Is)

The Spider will chase you non-stop around the walls and floors of this level, so make sure you have some distance between you. This bossy Spider isn’t going to let up and will lunge at you the moment it’s upclose. It will also web-shoot out more of its minions to slow you down. To crush this boss, the weakness is sitting on the back of its abdomen in the form of grotesque boils (that are not very hard to miss and gag at).

You’ll find handgun and shotgun ammo, and some healing items sitting around the area, but be quick about collecting them. And if you have some leftover grenades on you, don’t be afraid to shove them down its gullet. Unload your ammo into the Spider’s boils while parkouring up and down the arena to get a good view of sacks, as well as quick-turning the corners to keep your distance.

The Gas Tank: Kill It With FIRE!!!

Keep unloading as much as you can into the Spider and running around the walls. You will, eventually, come across a tank of flammable gas that you can throw at the Spider, severely damaging and stunning it on the spot. Don’t hesitate and shoot all that you’ve got until you get a cut scene. You can then let Leon take over from there as he axes that monster to death in all his glory. And, of course, delivering his signature Leon punch line.
