Gen.G Esports Player Review
Kiin
- Total Apex Rating – 6.6 (2nd among top laners, tied 9th among players)
- Champions Played
- Ambessa (2)
- Renekton (2)
- Gnar
- Gwen
- Jayce
- Rumble
- Vayne
Kiin’s laning phase against Xiaoxu was weaker than usual. He got solo-killed a couple of times. However, his teamfighting in that series and against Lyon was instrumental. Along with the Gen.G roster, he faltered in the Semi-Final. His counter-picked K’Sante with Vayne, but it looked like he was first timing the champion.
Canyon
- Total Apex Rating – 6.4 (3rd among junglers, tied 13th among players)
- Champions Played
- Vi (3)
- Pantheon (2)
- Ambessa
- Jarvan IV
- Nocturne
- Xin Zhao
Canyon maintained his LCK Cup form in the opening of First Stand. The 2025 Canyon returned in the G2 Esports series. He lacked impact in the early game and disrespected what SkewMond could do. He tried to power farm instead of impacting his lanes, an aspect many have criticized him for.
Chovy
- Total Apex Rating – Chovy (tied 1st among mid laners, tied 6th among players)
- Champions Played
- Ahri (2)
- Galio (2)
- Azir
- Hwei
- Mel
- Orianna
- Twisted Fate
Chovy had the most dominant performance for a player in a series against JD Gaming. He followed that up in the second series. He was not the problem in their series against G2, with the map often exploding around him. However, he did not have his usual dominant performance.
Ruler
- Total Apex Rating – 6.2 (3rd among bot laners, 15th among players)
- Champions Played
- Caitlyn (2)
- Yunara (2)
- Ashe
- Corki
- Jhin
- Miss Fortune
- Sivir
Ruler could have earned the Total Apex player of the series against JD Gaming. However, his classic mistakes showed up. He was the reason why Gen.G struggled more in game two against Lyon. His errors gave the LCS’s first seed a lead. His laning against G2 Esports was weak. That led to many leads for the LEC’s first seed.
Duro
- Total Apex Rating – 6.8 (2nd among supports, 8th among players)
- Champions Played
- Alistar (2)
- Neeko (2)
- Rakan (2)
- Seraphine (2)
- Bard
Gen.G really drafted for bot lane power with Duro. They often gave him champions that would succeed in teamfights. He delivered in that aspect, even when they were far behind against G2 Esports.
First Stand Review

Gen.G fell from grace at First Stand. Heading into the tournament, no one expected them to lose. After two series, the expectations heightened. No one gave G2 Esports a chance. However, a combination of Gen.G’s form dropping and G2 Esports rising to the occasion meant the LCK Cup winners fell. The way they lost was the biggest surprise for everyone. Gen.G was dominant in teamfights and macro leading up to the series.
However, that was not evident against G2 Esports. G2 were simply the better team on the day, and that should concern fans. A team was touted for the Golden Road, but fell short at the first international hurdle. Will they return to domestic dominance and defend their Mid-Season Invitational title?
