First Stand 2026 FearX Review: Falling Short In Their First International Performance

The First Stand Logo, the first international event of the year

By finishing second in the LCK Cup, FearX qualified for their first international event. They kicked off their First Stand appearance with a narrow loss to Bilibili Gaming. Despite being the favorites to advance to the Semi-Final, they fell at the final hurdle. BFX will need the lessons after a disappointing exit from First Stand. Will BFX qualify for the Mid-Season Invitational later this year?

FearX Player Review

Clear

  • Total Apex Rating – 4.7 (8th among top laners, tied 37th among players)
  • Champions Played
    • Ambessa (2)
    • Gnar (2)
    • Renekton (2)
    • Rumble (2)
    • Jayce
    • Kennen
    • K’Sante

Clear had a First Stand performance that he would like to forget. His laning phase suffered during the event. He died multiple times in the lane to both Bin and Pun. His only reprieve was against BrokenBlade, who played tanks against him.

Raptor

  • Total Apex Rating – 5.7 (7th among junglers, 22nd among players)
  • Champions Played
    • Nocturne (3)
    • Vi (2)
    • Lee Sin
    • Maokai
    • Naafiri
    • Pantheon
    • Trundle
    • Xin Zhao

Raptor was the best player in BFX’s series against Team Secret Whales. He carried them across the line in a difficult series. However, he struggled with their losses. Both Canyon and SkewMond kept him quiet in the early games.

VicLa

  • Total Apex Rating – 5.6 (tied 4th among mid laners, tied 24th among players)
  • Champions Played
    • Annie (2)
    • Mel (2)
    • Ahri
    • Aurora
    • Galio
    • Orianna
    • Syndra
    • Taliyah
    • Zoe

VicLa had a resurgence during the LCK Cup. He went from being the worst player on BFX to one of the best. Expectations were high for him at First Stand. However, it took less than two minutes for VicLa to die at the hands of Knight. He redeemed himself against Team Secret Whales and had a decent laning phase against a struggling Caps.

Diable

  • Total Apex Rating – 5.6 (6th among bot laners, tied 24th among players)
  • Champions Played
    • Yunara (3)
    • Kai’Sa (2)
    • Ashe
    • Ezreal
    • Jhin
    • Jinx
    • Kalista
    • Varus

Diable took the LCK by storm in the past year. He has quickly risen to one of the best and most exciting bot laners in the league. He earned the only two pentakills of First Stand. BFX failed to draft for Diable in their G2 Esports series. Along with that, the young AD carry struggled to leave a mark on the match.

Kellin

  • Total Apex Rating – 6.1 (4th among supports, 17th among players)
  • Champions Played
    • Karma (2)
    • Neeko (2)
    • Rakan (2)
    • Renata Glasc (2)
    • Milio
    • Poppy
    • Seraphine

Kellin, along with Raptor, was a pivotal part of BFX’s success against Team Secret Whales. He was the only player in their final series who found angles to give BFX a chance to recover. He was also vital in enabling Diable in the first two series, helping him earn two pentakills.

First Stand Review

For their first international event, many were not sure where to place BFX. They were the second-best team in the LCK Cup, but did they have the experience to perform? They showed some fight against Bilibili Gaming, but it was not enough to get over the line. Their lane weakness is a concern moving forward. Teams will know how to target them in the future. Their international inexperience was a significant cause of their loss to G2 Esports. A failed dive under G2 Esports’ tier two Tower allowed a game two comeback. From that point on, BFX could not recover and suffered a disappointing 3-0 series loss.
