A Bride’s Story manga finally returns: 3 great new chapters
Kaoru Mori’s A Bride’s Story manga will return this winter with a new volume from a new publisher. The announcement came Wednesday, Sept. 30, in the third volume of Mori’s other series, “Shirley,” Anime News Network reported, citing Comic Natalie.
The book, titled “Otoyome-Gatari Zoku no 1” (“A Bride’s Story Continues 1”), will be published by Yukiwarisō (Hepatica, Inc.), the same company that released the new “Shirley” volume.
What’s in the new A Bride’s Story manga volume
The volume will collect three new chapters totaling about 80 pages, according to ANN. It will be printed in a larger A4 format, bigger than a typical manga paperback.
The chapters are going straight into book form. They will not run in a magazine first.
Mori plans to release at least a 16th volume once she finishes enough chapters, ANN reported. Kadokawa, the series’ longtime publisher, will keep handling digital editions from Vol. 16 onward.
Why the A Bride’s Story manga changed publishers
Mori launched the series in 2008 in Kadokawa’s Fellows! magazine, later renamed Harta. It then moved to Kadokawa’s Aokishi magazine.
In February 2025, Aokishi announced a revamp, and Mori’s work was among the titles that would no longer appear there. At the time, the magazine said Mori planned to search for a new form of publication, according to ANN. The 15th compiled volume shipped in Japan in November 2024.
More Kaoru Mori releases on the way
The “Shirley” announcement also promised new editions of that manga’s first two volumes, redesigned to match the third and its new “Shirley Medison” title. Mori’s earlier Victorian maid series, “Emma,” is set for a collector’s edition, ANN reported.
In English, Yen Press publishes the A Bride’s Story manga. It released Vol. 15 in December 2025, per ANN. Yen Press has not yet announced an English release for the new volume.
