Dylan Sprouse and Barbara Palvin just gave fans the one detail everyone wanted after their Labor Day-hinting baby announcement: a name. The couple’s first child together is named Sylvie, Sprouse confirmed on his own podcast, as reported by Just Jared.
The couple announced their daughter’s arrival Sept. 28 with a joint Instagram post captioned ‘We took Labor Day literally this year,’ a hint that she was born on the holiday, which fell on Sept. 7. The next day, Sprouse shared her name on the Sept. 29 episode of his Wildmen podcast, which he co-hosts with Brendan Columbus.
A New Chapter for Sprouse and Palvin
The former Disney Channel star and the Victoria’s Secret model announced they were expecting back in May. Sylvie’s arrival marks the next step for a couple who tied the knot in 2023 with a wedding in Hungary.
On the podcast, Sprouse got candid about fatherhood, admitting he’s found unexpected joy in something as simple as dressing his newborn. He described the small moments hitting him hardest, saying: “There’s moments when I look at Sylvie, and I’m like, ‘This is the coolest thing ever.'”
Podcasts Are Becoming the New Baby Announcement
Sprouse’s decision to reveal his daughter’s name on his own show rather than through a traditional interview or press release reflects a broader shift in how celebrities control their own narratives. Instead of waiting for outlets to break the news, more stars are using their podcasts, social platforms, and other owned channels to share personal milestones on their own terms and in their own words.
For Sprouse, who has built Wildmen as a space for casual, unscripted conversation, it made sense to let the news come out organically rather than through a formal statement. That approach also gave fans something more intimate than a caption: an actual glimpse into how he’s processing new parenthood in real time.
What’s Next
Neither Sprouse nor Palvin has indicated plans for further public updates beyond what’s already been shared. Given how private the couple has otherwise kept their relationship milestones, additional details about Sylvie will likely continue to trickle out through Sprouse’s podcast appearances rather than formal interviews.
For now, fans have the answer they were waiting for: the newest addition to the Sprouse-Palvin family has a name, and her dad already sounds thoroughly smitten.
